The OS itself will fit on the ssd yes, but no programs will. Which makes the SSD idea meaningless. Just having the OS on an ssd will not make your PC feel noticeably faster.

Either get a harddrive, or save a few extra dollars and get a 128 gig minimum (enough for OS + vital programs + vital games).

Save up some money to buy a bigger SSD. Managing an OS on a tiny SSD is a pain in the ass. My first SSD was a 60gb, and I quickly regretted not buying a bigger one.

i have a very very slim budget on a ssd would i be able to get away with a 32gb ssd for windows 8.1 and all the updates?

Considering that a 64GB is only a few more bucks then a 32GB (last time I checked the difference between them was 70 cents), no. Don't get a 32GB SSD.

Get at least a 60/64GB. However for you to actually feel comfortable with the space that you have a 120GB is recommended.

Could you list your total budget and the other specs you're thinking about getting? Maybe we can help figure out something...

If you're thinking of getting a 32 GB SSD and a 1 TB HDD, it may be a better idea to forgo one of those and buy it later.. Maybe start with just a 120 GB SSD alone and add the 1 TB HDD later, if you can live without all the extra storage for a little while..

i7 not perfectly stable at 4.4.. #firstworldproblems

There is no point of having an SSD that small for only your OS. Save up some money for a 120 or 240GB SSD to put your programs on.

my install / program data / user profile is 90+gb - If I really tried to tidy this I could slim down maybe 10gb... but that's all... many applications install data on the OS drive even when they are primarily installed on a secondary drive.  I would go 128gb, 64gb would be an issue and 32gb would be a pain.
