Your 60fps or more experience?

I'm a relatively new PC gamer coming from a console and when i started i couldn't really tell the difference bar that one was a little bit smoother than the other. Now after ~ a month or so of gaming on a PC the difference is more apparent like whenever i play say Tomb Raider and forgot to turn off battery saver the game feels off and I check fraps and find out its at 30fps or whenever i play destiny with my friend I pick up a stutter and general lag that i never noticed before. Plus as time goes on the difference in 30 and 60 keeps on growing.  I'm curious on what other gamer's experience are like when they transition from console to PC. Does it align with my experience or is it entirely different?

Pretty much. After seeing what 60fps with full shaders and all the fancy graphics options have to do, GTA V on my PS3 looks like GTA San An to me now.

The transition for me was somewhat mind blowing. The difference between 60 and 30 hurts my eyes lol. When first loaded up games I thought they looked weird but not in a bad way, after a week or so I became used to solid 60fps in everything I played and now sadly I cannot go back to 30. I almost wish it was still acceptable so I could play terrible ports from ubisoft and games that come locked at 30fps for no reason. But I can't. Beyond 60 it's really diminishing returns. I have never seen up to 144hz myself but im sure that would be nice to see.

Just as a fun thing to make sure I continue to appreciate 60fps I'll just have games run at like 20 or 30 fps constantly. It's a masochist thing to do but once I put it back to 60 it just feels so right.

60fps is very nice... However, depending on the game, I get motion sickness from playing for too long at ~60fps... I first noticed it when looking at the nice TVs at one of the appliance shops here...

Well I transitioned into PC gaming quite easily, because the difference between my 360 and laptop was quite small. I doubt I could even run MW3 at 45+ fps xD

But now when I go over to a friends place and play some, GTA V, BOII or Titanfall, then come back the next day and play the same game on my $1,800 PC, I almost jizz in my pants.

So it isn't horrifying to go from PC to console for me, rather fantastic to go from console to PC.

Well, I started gaming on a pc, but it was a very old one so my framerates weren't very high ^^ yeah, it's normal, you don't notice at first but the difference is dramatic as you get used to it.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

I actually have done that once before, but that didn't last long. So the effect of going back to 60 didn't last long either.  :(

It doesn't hurt my eyes(it does strain it a bit especially on games that i usually play at 60) however i can still play games at 30, its more of an annoyance for me from the usual smoothness of 60

I'm very sensitive to this , i can tell the difference between minute differences in fps ( not to brag , it's even a downside , it bugs me all the time ) . 30 fps is barely playable ( it's awful in Bf3/4 )

for now I can only notice a huge drop from say 60/45 or 60/30

I recently put a GPU in my system. I can play Skyrim with High-Medium graphics and it goes from 30-60 fps. I love it! Better than console Skyrim and it's hard to play CoD on PS3 now

There's a small handful of games that I can play sub-60 and be OK with...

Company of heroes, Diablo 3, Minecraft, and a few small titles that don't depend on rapid updates (papers Please, Prison Architect, Risk of Rain, ETC, ETC)

Other than that, I begin to sacrifice antialiasing for my 60 FPS. I have Precision X cap my FPS at 75, however, as both my monitors are 60hz, and max stable OC on them is 75 (well... my secondary can jump to 78, but it's easier just to do dual 75... :P)

That said... I can go play Halo 3 on the 360, and with a few minutes, be adjusted to it (It's still jarring at first - but I can adjust to it better on console than I can on PC). Perhaps it's the greater distance between me and the screen with console/PC? Dunno.

Well when you usually only use controller and suddenly start using Mouse and keyboard, it's very difficult to get used to it.

Anyways, nice! I still own my friends and others online at CoD :P

I think GTA San an still holds up, atleast on PC!

Anyway, I can't play anything below 60fps without feeling sick..

I remember the change from 30 to 60 wasn't that amazing since I had been playing older games for a long while so I had already experienced 60 several times before fully switching(I had time to acclimate). However changing from 60 to 144 was literally one of the coolest moments in my PC gaming career. I am a pretty competitive gamer and I had been looking at 144hz monitors for awhile. In the weeks leading up to me buying the monitor I began to notice how slow the 60hz refresh rate was. So going to 144 felt insanely good.

FOV maybe? Higher fps means faster camera movement and if the FOV is borderline low I sometimes experience discomfort when playing with a mouse as opposed to a controller(can't move the camera around as fast using a controller).

Otherwise 60 is always better than 30 for me. It's tolerable if using I'm using the gamepad and the game is not too fast paced, say like Souls games

60fps means nothing to me unless its stable, a frame up or down for me is worse than a stable 30fps.

But that said, 30fps is noticeable in racing games and star citizen and I dropped my refresh rate set at 50hz and prefer it.
