Boot Time.

Doc X

So when i wake up and start my pc it takes literally like 4 seconds ( i have a ssd for the os and a separate storage drive). But later in the day i restarted the pc and it took like from 20-30 seconds and i don't really understand why. Does anybody know why, or have a theory?

can you define define boot time?

To me it's the moment you press the button all the way to Windows fully loaded on you desktop (minus time to enter you password for the account, if any).

Also, what is your computer specs and Windows?

It should vary from 6sec all the way pass 1min part.

It's not windows update cause i turned the auto update off.

But, Apparently it was my external Hard Drive. I turned my Asus mobo's Fast Boot on so i thought it wouldn't be an issue leaving the external hdd connected, but once i disconnected it my boot time was around 6 sec. Boot Time to me is the moment you press the button all the way to Windows fully loaded.

Indeed your motherboard might be "pinging" the external HDD, checking for a bootable OS? Interesting to find out that was the issue.

I would try leaving the HDD unplugged for a day or two and continue with your normal amount of shut downs and reboots and see if that has completely resolved the issues.
