I don't like pitbulls, but I understand the reason it's stupid to ban people from owning them.

 

I don't even like dogs in general.

Btw, pits are not naturally aggressive either.

 

They were bred to be agressive, it's not really a pure breed, its a selective mix of traits that end up with a fighting dog, Mastiffs, Bull dogs etc. The whole point of them is to be aggressive.

 

I have no problem with them, they are lovely dogs, but lots of people abuse them and/or use them a status symbols. Depends on where you are from, but I can see why some countries ban them.

Those countries also have quite low taxes for corporations and low tariffs if any

Sort them by corporate tax rate and see for yourself. In fact the RICHEST ones have higher tax rates.

The scandinavians are about average really, the lowest ones are countries like Albania and Ireland, quite poor by comparison.

Here in NSW you gotta be on your L's for 6-12 months whilst stuck at 80km/h, P1's for a minimum of 1 year capped at 90km/h & P2's for 2 years capped at 100km/h. Oh and that's on top of them pushing longer and longer periods of logbook times under the impression that more "logbook hours = better driving" some how (guess what: accidents related to young drivers and their logbook hours have gone UP since the jump from 20 hours total to 150 with like 20-30 hours driving at night). Oh, and the whole "basically: no booze for you kiddo" sort of stuff until you finish your time on P2's and get your full license is the same here

As it is, I'd feel safer building a electric motor-assisted quadcycle (no consensus on 'quadRAcycle' or 'quadRIcycle' in the industry) with a full-body lightweight fairing and have that capped at like 60km/h instead of trying to wrestle with 1-2 tonnes of steel which causes me to have a biological BSoD when I go to try and turn over the motor just to move it a few meters.

AND I'M IN MY FUCKING 20'S, HAVING FINISHED HIGH SCHOOL A DECADE AGO! (seriously, I finished Year 10 in 2003 and once I got my SC I got the HELL out of Dodge, moved towns over the 2003/04 Christmas/New Years period.)

Yeah it was pretty much just echoing what I said, they were bred to be fighting dogs and are aggressive by nature.

 

I wasn't saying that they can't be trained to be passive, it does take work though. What I was saying is that a lot of people get them with the intention of encouraging their already aggressive traits and using them to fight each other or as a way of appearing more aggressive themselves. These are not good reasons to own a dog.

 

There are people that take good care of them though, they often have breathing problems etc so do need extra attention.

 

I think countries that ban them have good intentions, it all depends on the culture in that area.
