Been running this setup for about 8 months now. Have all the parts ordered for a full custom loop, so once that's together, I should be able to get more out of the GPU; it was throttling towards the end of the runs to get that score. For the budget this thing was built on, I couldn't be happier with how it turned out.

Thanks and yes the old X58 platform does indeed a great job taken its age for a counter. Its over 7 years a go now it came out. The first CO revision of I7 920 came out in november 2008 but DO revision chip as mine is came out a little later (got mine in may 2009). I am in no hurry to replace my old machine any time soon and if i need more CPU power i have the option to get a 6 core I7 or Xeon chip. Right now i will only replace my pc i it dies.

If you want to have a closer look at how my pc handles other benchmark, take a look at this thread over at TPU i made:

I hope you all don't mind me squeezing in here, i think i know what causes the odd instability at certain voltages and core speeds... my VRM's are basically saying NOPE!

So i modded my 580's cooler even further...

A Corsair 120mm fan bolted directly on the side of the cooler pushing a shit tonne of air across the circuitry, i will let her rip in a bit once i install 3D Mark and see if i can obtain a score for you guys, should get interesting :D

That Corsair at 100% sounds like a Delta... Fan airflow: 46 - 92 CFM
Fan dBA: 22 - 39 dBA
Fan static pressure: 1.6 - 7.7mm/H20

CONSOLE KILLER: Pentium III 700mhz . 512MB RAM . 3DFX VOODOO 3 SLi
