  1. Cx 48” pricing announced yesterday for the US. 1499!
  2. My version of clean. Glass case. Glass desk. Glass framed monitor (LG Oled E9 55”). Razer turret for sitting back and enjoying. Custom screen resolutions when I work close to the screen with 0 trade offs. It’s not a setup for most, but I love it.
  3. the c9 55 price on release was 2800 if I recall correctly. There is an entire reddit post on pricing history between the B and C on release with prediction on the Cx, it actually appears the CX will have a lower price release than previous models on release. Come Black Friday, I would suspect the 48" CX will fall around 1300-1500 depending on its release price.
  4. using it in ultra wide framing as mentioned above as well allows for comfortable desk use. Its a highly adaptable solution. Not for everyone, which is why I wanted to give some pointers for folks looking at doing this with the new CX coming out to the market.
  5. Hence the Razer Turret that I use away from the desk.
  6. Ever since VRR Gsync capabilities were updated for the LG 9 series oled panels (C9/E9 with B9 coming), its made them an attractive desktop monitor or couch gamer for a lot of reasons. Linus covered this in a video and went glory on the results, but of course neglected to really dive into some of the negatives and ways to counter. This week I received my LG Oled E9 55" to incorporate into my glass build (glass desk, glass case, now glass framed monitor) The initial issues with using it as a desk based monitor / display is 55" is a lot of screen. There are a few ways arou
  7. From rumor, the CX will be able to run 4k 120hz without having to rely on HDMI 2.1. It will do this with HDMI 2.0 much like the samsung Q90R. The other benefit too the CX will be the new 48" model that will come in around 1800 USD (1500 sale) that will be extremely popular for PC desktops. For console gaming I would see you being fine with a C9 / B9 and being done and saving some money - especially given current pricing. Personally, I went with an E9 55" for my glass desk / tower. It arrives Saturday.
  8. https://www.3dmark.com/compare/fs/21004013/fs/20903996 i7 8750H 1050ti MQ 9570 xps dell vs i9 5500m Mac in Bootcamp. egpu is not recognized at all in windows at this time.
  9. XPS 9570 i7 4K on the right. MacBook 16 i9 5500m on the left. 1200p benchmark very playable ran native in Mac osx will have windows benches soon enough.
  10. return units may end up costing more when the promo is over. Seen their prices go for 700-720 used. This is a historic low - plus used does not mean warranty which IMO is important on a monitor of this caliber
  11. Item needs to be in cart and you must be prime subscribed. . . https://www.amazon.com/Acer-XV273K-Pbmiipphzx-Compatible-DisplayHDR400/dp/B07MQBDY91/ref=sr_1_16?keywords=4k+monitor&psr=PDAY&qid=1563206462&s=prime-day&sr=1-16 Reviews are hit and miss due to potential backlight bleed. Customer service has shown to be decent. Many of the reviewers out there gave it incredible high marks.
  12. EOS RP is a fantastic camera, as long as you're not doing Video. If you were happy with the IQ of the 6D, you'll be very happy with the RP. Used a 5DII ->6D -> 5D III (current) -> EOS RP (travel and studio) Canon EOS RP with 35mm f2.8 Macro RF. In studio with godox 400 Pro (x2) by Cody Conway, on Flickr
  13. thermal issues I can handle. Motherboards dying I have not seen much of.
  14. I have posted a few topics on this PC. The idea was fun, the actual use was decent, but the QA was painful. The XPS 9575 was a 2 in 1 that offered near desktop grade CPU performance (thinking back to i7 4790 era here) with AMD graphics in a new hybrid chip. 16gb of ram. 100% Adobe RGB 4k display. NVMe storage. Wacom pen use.... it was slated for designer and creators in my opinion, and when it worked it worked... well, well! However, the stability of drivers dell released, and the quality assurance of the hardware leaving their facilities (not to mention part availability) kills w
