LTT 3DMark Thread

Well question, if you spend already 3200USD why bother about a 300 bucks tool ;) ?

Good point, GAH this is so tough since the OC Panels are a bit cheaper and more common from Asus, but the dual BIOS for it is so ghetto.

Well if I´d go for a 4way highend OCing SLI I´d not cheap out on a 300 USD dollar tool that is really the key to success man. It is the same as if I´d bought my new X99 rig for a 5960X and then put a 212 EVO air cooler on it to save money. No just No. I am going with a highend watercooling with the best the EK Supremacy!

Whats funny is that I saw something like that on Facebook  Quad 980's a 5960x and a Hyper 212 on a R5E made cringe, when comes down to buying the first 980 I'll doing research.

Classy Tool v2.1

Yes.

I am asking what the problem is.?

The tool is readily available, Kingpin himself posted the unlocked BIOS.

You can easily Overclock the card, even on LN2 without the evbot. Evbot just provides a couple of more settings & is bit more easier to use than the Classy tool, not worth $300.

IMHO.

I already now that the unlocked BIOS is available makes me just scratch my head about why it would be limited to 1.212v out of the box.  Yes I know there is the additional dip switches.

Yup..

That's why its not unlocked from factory & one of the several reasons I am not a big fan of Nvidia. But my personal opinion doesn't matter here.

No I agree, but makes me wonder why did my reference 770's from Nvidia allow 1.3v with a stock BIOS

That I don't know about.

Never paid much attention to 770 as it wasn't the top end card.

Sorry.

Sorry.

Its all good, now I gotta really think on what cards I'm gonna get or if I'm gonna wait for the 300 series cards and see what they offer.

What CPU?

The 5960X is dead. The 5930K is alright and running. This CPU died in a scenario where even the guys from Intel said they rarely see this happen. It literally fried itself during a reboot. No sweat it´s already in RMA and I´ll have a new one by the end of next week.

BTW no I didn´t kill it because of OCing, when it died it ran @ 4.2GHz and 1.23V. But I´ve got to give the customer service of Intel credit they treat you like a king when you buy such a highend CPU.
