What's wrong is that @Onboard87 is using a FX processor.

Slow CPU means low CPU score. Slow CPU also means low GPU score.

The major flaw is that you're both using Sky Diver. Nobody runs Sky Diver.

This doesn't mean anything really.

As long as they aren't magic go fast drivers they'll be approved in no time. Helps keep the results fair.

Hello O9B0666, this was interesting. I decided to run it again and i got this. You can also see that there was no overclock before. This era of Gpus from AMD is very wierd ,imo.

I am also interested to know what you mean by, "my graphics card driver is not approved". Could this be the reason for the similar score?

Hi, first time posting my 3DMark scores to this forum. Upgraded my PC from i7-4790/GTX970 to i7-8700K/GTX1080Ti. :P Very lucky to get a stable 5.3GHz @ 1.410V with AVX offset 2. CPU is delidded and runs in a custom loop without the GPU. For 24/7 use I dial back to 5.2GHz @ 1.370V with AVX offset 1. GPU is still air cooled for now and it is a Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080 Ti non-extreme. Anyway, these are my scores, hoping to break 5k in Time Spy Extreme soon!

Usually I overclock my CPU to a very stable 5GHz at 1.275v (non-delidded) but pushed it to 5.2GHz at 1.375v for the above benchmark.  GPU was Core +100MHz and Memory +400MHz in MSI Afterburner.

Tightened the RAM sub-timings, all the tests have had an improvement in scores. Was bigger than expected, since I literally only changed 2 sub timings lol.

I'm now top 93 in Fire Strike Ultra, top 142 in Fire Strike Extreme, top 207 for Fire Strike and top 150 for Time Spy Extreme for the same specs. Now I'm thinking the RAM is a bottleneck because I can't push any further without a watercooled GPU. Probably going to get a RAM with a more aggressive XMP profile to get reduced CAS timings and clock speed. Could I get top 100 in single GPU if I get a better binned GPU and RAM doing 4k+ MHz at C16 or less?

Also it's weird that the GPU core in the first test I run is always at 2,076 regardless the test but for subsequent tests it drops to 2,063 MHz. Planning to sell off the current memory I have and get a 16GB 4266MHz C19 kit and hopefully reach C15 4000MHz. I will watercool my GPU in the same loop soon with a single 240mm loop. Will it be sufficient or should i get another 120mm radiator?

Finally, managed to break 5k in Time Spy Extreme. Weirdly, other attempts to benches were no longer stable. GPU was boosted to 2,088MHz this time, and RAM primary timings were optimized to 13-15-15-33 at 3,466MHz. Secondary and tertiary timings also had changes but I can't remember much aside from follow the RAM OC guide in this forum. Very satisfied with the score right now.

GPU cooling was the bottleneck identified, less than 100% fan speed wouldn't be stable so I guess I'll need to watercool it as well. RAM secondary and tertiary timings could be further optimised but I'm done for now. :)

I managed to get 12390 on my 2080 after overclocking manually.

Will have to wait until i'm back at home before i can post the screenshots and link.

Some notes before i post my before and after GPU upgrade.

1. I've only listed the really important bits, i have some other stuff, (a pair of WD TB and 1 of two new 10TB Seagates amongst other things), plugged in but they should have a minimal performance impact so i didn't list them.

2. No my CPU is not overclocked nor is the memory despite having got the parts to allow it. Mostly because when i first got the system i didn;t feel any need to do so as everything ran more than well enough, and i quickly realized that when i did start playing things that couldn't quite run full bore the GPU was limiting me a lot more than the CPU/memory. At this point i could OC stuff but honestly i think i'm pushing my PSU about as far as i want to without going up to an 850w model.

3. My choice of upgrade GPU was not made based on my current CPU/MB/Mem setup, it was made with giving me the most growth room in a year or so when i can afford to do that. It is unquestionably being CPU bottlenecked fairly hard, though in the results breakdown it's only the Physics portion thats actually being limited. The graphics side matches top scorers with same clock speed cards to within margin of error.

That said anyone looking to make a similar upgrade, in terms of value for money the 2070 is far better ATM, at least in the UK, being £100 more than a 1070, and £50 more than a 1080 whilst having a significant/slight performance advantage respectively.

4. Since my old card didn't have DX12 support i never bothered going to win 10 and all it;s hassle,s now i have this that's going to have to be somthing i do. need to look up a good tutorial on disabling all the damm spyware, (Classic shell install first though).

5. Old card test was run on free version with no 3DMark account. That means no Ultra Benchmark and i had to use browser history to find my old result.

Again to reiterate myself, unless your really looking for the maximum headroom when you do upgrade the CPU and your firmly GPU limited with your current setup i don't recommend this card with a CPU this old.
