Is that supposed to be funny or something?

Oh, you're right, sorry man. I didn't look at names, I'm very sleepy.

As for the statement, no, it's a true statement outright. Maybe it really is drivers or something?

I have finally moved to a desktop. Also my guides are outdated as hell.

Well they're basically at stock so maybe that's it. Needs more GPU memory clock and CPU clock.

Could also be driver.

Just had to reformat, reinstall windows with fresh Adrenaline drivers and I still got 19074 in Firestrike3. It seems to be more related to operating at stock rather than a driver issue. GPU temps never went above 69degC.

This PC is predominantly a 24/7 Seti@H box though so it will stay stock.

Registered on HWBot and submitted FireStrike , -Extreme, -Ultra (and GPUPI 1B). Lucky me no one seems to have done LN2 on R9 290, so I got first places B|

Accordingly to HWbot rules, no tessellation Fire Strike:

Looks I would make for the 3rd place in R9 290X rankings LN2 included... Some of those scores are pretty old looking though.

Yeah, i9 please stay out of my GPU benchmark please! x)

I guess it is the nature of the sport, supporting hardware, software and drivers all continue to evolve. I can only hope noone cares about a measly R9 290 :P

Borrowed another R9 290, re-ran firestrike. 16,200 points: https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/24602684

CPU: Xeon X5675, 4.5 GHz (X58 chip)

GPU: XFX R9 290 DD + Sapphire R9 290 Tri-X

GPU 1&2 Core: 947 MHz (down from 1100 MHz due to XFX stock clock)

GPU 1&2 Mem: 1250 MHz (down from 1400 MHz due to XFX stock clock)

Score: 16,200

Am hitting thermal throttle with the stock clocks due to X58 motherboard PCIE slot spacing, so...likely won't be improving on this.

Hey guys, when adding our test results to this thread, do we use the max clock speed we reached, or do we use the clock speed our GPU settled in at? My card will spike up to over 2126mhz at the very beginning and level out somewhere around 2080ish. Excuse my ignorance, i'm a new member and just built my first pc, and i didn't see any mention of this is the original post.

Whichever clock is reported by 3DMark will do.
