So, I'm thinking about returning my TX for a 1080 Ti. Still have roughly 2 weeks of return time. You guys think it's worth it? Might even get 2 or just use the money for extra upgrades.

If you do return it, which I don't think you should, just get one 1080 Ti.  Use the remaining money and apply it towards a custom loop.  AIOs and Hybrid coolers are good for what they are, but you strike me as the kind of guy who's hoping for high scores.  If that's the case, you need to stop using the JV cooling shit.  :P

A custom loop will be used in more than this build so consider it an investment.

I would but I don't have a clue about doing my own custom loop. I don't have the patience for it either. :D

Weak!!!

You'd be floored the first time you build your own loop and realize how easy it was.  There's too many of us around to help for you to keep making excuses.  If you can sit through days worth of benchmarking, you have the patience to build a loop.

With all of the high end parts that you're using it's almost criminal that you're using AIOs and Hybrid coolers.  You'd serve 30 days in Virginia for that stunt.

Ikr xD. I'm still debating though. Would they be able to tell I took my card apart if I put it back at stock config? Thing is though, if I send it back I'd have to wait for the Ti to be available. :/ hmmm.

Tbh I would wait 1 gen as the titan will hold value better when you come to upgrade next time round.

True, but I'm talking about stuff that can be used in a practical manner daily. I know water chillers and phase changing can be used daily, but most don't want the noise.

I'm on the verge of doing it, but my plan involves locating the noise parts to the basement directly below my office.

I wouldn't return it. If you already have a Titan X Pascal I'd keep it. It's still the top dog. Not by much, but it is.

you just get a second system and go straight to ln2 :P you'll be using a Pentium+gtx750 in main rig in no time and get monster scores with x99 and z270 based benching systems :D

That's true too. Having a bit more money for the Volta Titan will make this pill a bit easier to swallow. I just happened to buy at the wrong time, but I knew what I was getting myself into. Next time I'll just buy day 1 and skip the x80 variant.

The thing I like most about the scores that I post are that they are with the system I use every single day.  That's why I'm working towards this quiet sub ambient setup.  I want to be able to say it's my daily rig and it's still near or at the top.  :D

So after contemplating, I decided to open a return for a refund. Thing is, I'm still in the return process (until March 10th) and I could definitely use the extra $500 for upgrades. I just so happened to buy it 3 weeks ago and now I can get the same perf for so much less and still have extra money left over. Pretty much bought it at the wrong time, otherwise if I would've bought it at launch, it wouldn't have mattered.

Unfortunately, it seems like I got a dud of an overclocker compared to my Titan. The max core I can hit is 2050MHz stable compared to the 2126 on the Titan. Scores are lower as well. What a bummer. :( Seems the Titan's got the binned chips. I keep running into voltage reliability issues on the Extreme/Ultra tests. I don't know if raising the voltage will help with that or not. :/

Besides that, still glad I saved $500 bucks and was able to put 3 more Noctua Industrial 3000RPM fans. It sounds like a server room in my office now. xD

So I played Wildlands for an hour nearly maxed out and the max temp I got was 32c. :o It was mostly bouncing between 31-32c. I had the Noctua NF-F12 iPPC at about 80%. Hot damn I didn't realize what a difference fans truly make. I felt around the back of the case and that fan was pushing some serious air through the rad. I'm very impressed with the performance as it brought temps down about 6-7c over the stock EVGA fan.
