It is said that the GTX 980 will not beat the GTX 780Ti, so do not expect so much from it

A whole sentence: OverclockersUK have the cards in house while they are not revealing anything about specs they're saying don't expect anything massive.

how the hell does that even work? the 980's going to be TWO 980's or whatever and logically two 980's would do better than a 780ti

CPU = A10 6800K (@4.3Ghz) / GPU = HD 8670D (@844mhz/ram@1866mhz) - 2016 ≠ Dual Cores - why learn Linux ? - OLD intel x4 cpu (Q6600) + amd HD 7950 - this is what i think on watts x dollar cost - CPU "bottlenecks" only start to show "at the super high end cards" (like the 390) if you have a 4 cores CPU

because we dont want to see new flagship GPU's slower than previous flagship even if its cheaper it should still beat the previous gen even if its only by 1%

In your mind... Think about who Nvidia actually develops architecture for: corporate users in servers/supercomputers. Performance is less importance than perf/cost and perf/watt which adds to cost. Gamers are so conceited. Nvidia and AMD are wise to ignore you. You're not a market large enough to sustain either company, much less both. If you can pack the same performance into a cheaper package then large-scale architects will buy them.

The 880 will beat the 780 purely due to its much higher core count and low thermal output. That means clock rates can soar back into the 900MHz range and up,

To all of you worried about the 256bit bus - Stahp!!! 

 

Smaller numbers don't always = less performance. Do you really think they would release a new flagship GPU that is less capable than the previous flagship? Obviously the 256 bus is more than adequate where, just like with the R9-285, it's being used much more efficiently with the new architecture. This is a good thing, not bad.

 

And can we please lay off the GTX 9XX rumor/speculation posts for more than a half a day? lol  :rolleyes:
