What's the Oldest Hardware in Your System right now?

A decade old 160GB Seagate Barracuda. It's never failed at all, and it's actually still my one and only HDD atm because I'm kinda broke, lol. I've updated/replaced every part of my system a couple of times since I got that HDD, but the still barracuda remains.

I still have a Win95 System (not sure about the components inside but they are definetly not new :P) operational just for the purpose of using a Epson LQ-500 dot matrix printer for emergencies when i run out of ink for my ink jet printer :P

As for my rig I am using some old OEM 250 GB hard drive and a Asus HD7770 2GB DDR5 until I can afford to finish upgrading everything

My build: CPU: Intel i5-4690K; Motherboard: Asus RoG Maximus VII Ranger; RAM: Kingston Hyper X 16GB 1833Mhz; GPU: Gigabyte Windforce G1 Gaming GTX 960 2GB; PSU: Corsair CX750M; Storage: Kingston 240GB SSD + Synology NAS w/ WD Red 1TB; Cooling: Corsair H110Case: Corsair 450D; Accessories: Asus RoG Front Base;

My whole system is plain old; it's quite amazing that all components still work. I have only added 1 GB of DDR-133 RAM and that's it. Everything else is just as it was 10 years ago when it was bought on June 13th 2004. I have a DELL Dimension 4600i... I guess I have the oldest system here.

Specs:

  • DELL motherboard socket 478
  • Integrated Intel Extreme graphics with 96 MB of VRAM
  • 1,5 GB DDR-133 RAM
  • 120 GB Maxtor HDD (IDE)
  • Intel Pentium 4 Northwood (1 core, 2 theads) @3.06 GHz
  • OS: Windows XP Home Edition SP3
  • DVD drive
  • CD drive
  • Floppy disk drive

Hope this is old enough B)

Grtz,

MrViresh

P.S.: If you have any questions, please PM me.

I think I can top that. (not my primary rig though)

How about a Dell Dimension 3000. Working. no idea about the specs, it once had a spiders web in it(good luck catching any flies Mr spider) that was sucked out with a hover, but still lives on. It also has a dual phone line dial up modem card.

IN? Probably the CPU and Motherboard circa 2010.

But I am currently using an UltraSharp 1704FP as a secondary from 2004 or 2005.

My other computers are actually rather new. Just built them this year.

I do have an Nvidia MX400 PCI card I use for troubleshooting. So the couple of times that was in my systems, I guess that was it.

I have a hard-disk manufactured in June, 2009. It still works. My hard disk manufactured in May, 2012 broke already. Probably the luck of the draw.

That's quite amazing, which brand? & is it the server grade hdd or normal one?

Details separate people.

Just a 7.2K RPM Hitachi consumer drive. >5 years of use isn't bad.

Screws and the 3com pci plate I put on my Intel NIC that was half sized only when I bought it.

Other than that, everything else is more or less from without the same time frame (2009/2010, with the SSD being slightly newer)

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3700x / GPU: Asus Radeon RX 6750XT OC 12GB / RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB DDR4-3200
MOBO: MSI B450m Gaming Plus / NVME: Corsair MP510 240GB / Case: TT Core v21 / PSU: Seasonic 750W / OS: Win 10 Pro

where can I find the manufacture date? I'm pretty sure mine is at least that old. Do I have to go actually look at the drive or can I download some nifty thing that will tell me.

I just looked at the sticker on the top of the drive. Different companies list it differently.

It looks like my HDD is from 2008, and that my secondary monitor is from 2007. So I guess that monitor is actually the oldest thing in the computer. Who knew.

My 240gb HDD is the oldest component in my rig. I hope to change that in a few months when the SSD prices drop even more!
