[US] Microcenter Haswell-E CPUs

cthomas1489

@cthomas1489

There's also a $40 discount off the motherboard.So with something like the ASRock Extreme4 you could buy the 5820K and an LGA 2011-3 motherboard for $500, not including tax which would be another $50.

For comparison Newegg has the same motherboard and processor for $630.

Yup... I'm in.

Tax, Paypal fees, and shipping fees will make your profit margin pretty damn small that it's really not worth doing because you won't be able to move enough of these.

Something is wrong with these cpus! They can't be that cheap.

They are and there is nothing wrong with them.

How does Micro Center have cheaper prices for in store than anywhere else does for online orders? Does anybody actually go into the store and get the items at the prices they have listed or are they sold out/limited quantities?

Hundreds of people per week come into my store and purchase processors at these prices. Micro Center has cheaper prices on processors because Micro Center loses money on every processor it sells but makes up for that loss by attaching motherboards, memory, aftermarket CPU coolers, etc. It is an effective business model.

X99 motherboard bundles should soon be active and will likely give you $50+ off a compatible motherboard when you purchase a Haswell-E processor.

Yes they are that price. Stock retail cpus. They assume you will buy other items in store. That's why the cpu s are sold at cost. My 4820K came from there. Zero problems with it. One per household.

I can tell you for fact as one that lives near two Micro's that they do indeed price match Amazon, Newegg & Tigerdirect.

As long as it's directly from Amazon, Newegg, or TigerDirect and not from a third party selling through one of those e-tailers. For brick-and-mortar stores, Micro Center also matches any US-based store that doesn't require a membership (i.e., not Costco or Sam's Club).

In store only and there isn't one near me.

Too bad, that's actually cheaper than a 4790k.

you can still price match it at bestbuy.
