Do you even have a more than 160Hz screen? Otherwise it is completely wasted money.

''No you don't'' was for: you don't want more fps.

All you do is causing your screen to tear.

Even if you had that 240Hz screen it's still not worth it for Minecraft :3 also OP you do not need more than 160 FPS...

It's called placebo effect, you get excited about "more performance" and just get happier by knowing the fps counter is higher, even if there is absolutely no physical difference at all by being limited by the refresh rate of the monitor. Don't let these conditions limit your mind and body.

Where is the point of having more fps?

Beware of him that is slow to anger; for when it is long coming, it is the stronger when it comes, and the longer kept. Abused patience turns to fury.

on a 120 Hz screen it's useless... doesn't matter if you get 160 or 200... it'll display 120 FPS

yeah just for benchmarking do you know a way to get more fps in minecraft without turning down the settings ?

no, in case of minecraft, a 4 core intel devils canyon overclocked as high as possible is better. single core performance rather than multithread.
