Is the AMD FX-9590 BLACK any good?

Is the AMD FX-9590 Black any good, or should I look for another CPU? I will pimarily use my computer for gaming, not any kind of video editing or anything.

And also, if I choose to go for the FX-9590, what kind of cooler should I buy?

No its a POS that creates a shit ton of heat while still performing worse than an i7

What is your budget for a processor? If you are only gaming you should get an i5 4690k and a z97 motherboard.

You should just buy a heater if you're cold..

Ok to be serious. just get an 8350 or an i5. it's not worth the headach to find the RIGHT motherboard for a 220+ TDP cpu and then you have buy closed waterloop cooler for it have decent temps. it's just not worth buying.

No, the 9590 creates excessive heat. It's pretty much a higher binned 8350 that's factory overclocked. Get the FX-8350 instead. Or go with a 4690K and a cheap Z97 board.

You would need water cooling and a mobo that support 220+tdp, it's not worth it, just get a zip mobo and a i5 4690k instead and put a hyper 212 evo on it.

It's good if you like AMD and you want the best AMD offers. But otherwise it makes little financial sense.

For pure gaming grab an i5-4690K.

FX9590 is an factory overclocked FX8350 basicly, which is a good cpu for gaming and productivity.

However for pure gaming the unlocked haswell i5´s i7´s are better, in games that are still relay on single threaded performance allot.

Games like DayZ, arma3, lol, wow. Skyrim and such.

But there are also games on where there is not much of a diffrence between FX and the i5 / i7

Games like Tombraider, Farcry, Crysis3, Need for speed, bioshock. BF4.

But you can mainaly say that the i5-4690K is the better allrounder for gaming. atm.

i7 does not realy make much sense for gaming yet.
