What time of year is Happy time of year for your computer?

During the winter, who needs to pay for heating when you have an R9 295X2?

 

Well with the power consumption of the card you basically are paying for heating xD

Winter, just like everyone else. When it's 30 degrees celcious outside on average and I'm rendering on top of that with a stock cooler, it's not very fun.

Winter. I tape the air vent in my room shut so the ambient temperature drops to like 40F and then I overclock my GPU until it the heat it produces brings my room back up to normal (70-75F). I really miss those extra 10-15 FPS during the summer.

Deffo everytime I play a game with amazing graphics.

And everysingle time I watch porn on ips monitor :D

The obvious answer would have been Winter, except that we keep our house at 71°F in the Winter. Right now, the best time for my PC has been this past July. Over here in the Eastern United States, we were seeing lows at night of 50°F.. I had my Window Fan in, and cooled my room down to around 55°F just to see what would happen. That was the the night I saw the best temperatures.. ever. You say you can't go lower than ambient wit hair.. While that may be true, what if your ambient is 55°F? Saw my CPU idling at around 15°C on a Hyper 212 in Push-Pull. It was amazing.

Oh god, I don't know. Summer, I got 2 months off, but temperatures get as hot as 50C in the area. Winter, I only get 3 weeks off, but temps are like -10-20C, so temps are perfect for my computer.

Not summer, my GPU and CPU idle at 45. Winter is nice

October-November: 6 weeks of holidays as well as birthday, christmas etc. Gives me time to play as well as the chance at an upgrade.

Winter break from school. Here in minnesota, it's around as cold as Canada and my computer is right next to my window. I'm nowhere near afraid to bring this thing over the edge and have some heat build up as it's cold as hell. 

Eric S. Raymond used an E6600 from 2005 until 12/30/14 or open source software creation. Raw data computations in excess of 18GB each. Core 2 Duos still have tons of life left, my friend.
