I built mine for about $1500 so probably $2000. $5000 if Apple sold it. :P

We have same GPU :) but mine is a Direct CUII

I'm not sure if this counts... It's not exactly a gaming laptop but it can game fairly comfortably. With all the money I've put into it, it's easily worth $1000 right now. I could upgrade the battery which would give it the battery life of an ultrabook, then add another hard drive and then replace the wireless n adapter with an ac adapter.

I love PCs... even the laptops are so much more customisable than macs...

Nvidia is to Dr Dre Beets as AMD is to KFC.

Mine has actually gone up in value. The GPU is £100 more expensive and the RAM is around twice as expensive as it used to be. But contrary to the list, my PSU was a CoolerMaster 80+ Bronze Non-Modular 650watt PSU which cost me a similar amount.

 

So my PC would cost £1250 prebuilt.

Apple, my friend uses mobile hardware in iMacs for a reason: POWER CONSUMPTION

 

Apple would never touch the FX 9590 because of its terrible efficiency. Not saying it is a bad choice, just saying that Apple doesn't even sell that kind of hardware. Apple's equivalent machine costs like $3000 (top of the line iMac or something...) so idk, you are right that it would cost a lot, but not for the same thing...
