f.lux review, Gunnar glasses for free.

AraSarkisyan

I downloaded flux 3 days ago to reduce the strain on my eyes after hours and hours of gaming with friends. I was in the market for glasses like Gunnars for a long time, and  let me tell you, im glad I didnt blow a hundred bucks on tinted glasses with magnification. Using flux is really easy and it automatically adjusts the filter based on time, weather, brightness, etc.

Anyway, I play cod 4 and Arma 2 and sometimes minecraft with friends for 5 hours on the weekends, and gaming really strains my eyes. Anyway, i've been playing Cod 4 for 4 hours and my eyes are perfectly fine. Maybe there is some sort of placebo effect going on, but hey, if it works, it works. AND it's free.

MY two cents http://stereopsis.com/flux/

for anyone interested

I have used F.lux for about 3 years now. It really does help, like you said. I don't think it's just a placebo affect since I've used it that long. That being said, whenever I work on videos or photos I have to constantly disable it because it really effects the color I see. If I kept it on I'd be making my videos and photos way too blue to offset the yellowing it does. I highly suggest using it though, I've used gunnars too and they aren't worth the pricetag and the discomfort of wearing headphones over glasses.

This certainly helps with keeping my sleeping schedule on track. Calm music, a video, and toned down brightness make a huge difference.

I hate f.lux the difference in color is horrible, specially on white.

Yeah I've been using Flux for a few years now and it's really such a good, handy program. A must have!

Is this the real life? Or is this just fantasy?

I use flux on my PC and it has helped so much i no longer have a headache after a long day on the PC and my eyes dont hurt any more.

Anyone who has used flux for a while turn it off and see what happens it pretty much blinds you.

Uh, that's the point.

A strong white background shooting into your eyes at 2am and you've been on your computer for 1-10 hours already, it can really strain and hurt your eyes.

My eyes hurt all the time and I have a constant headache, the white on my computer screens doesn't make it any worse

(and no looking at my screens for a long period of time isn't the cause of the headaches/eye strain)
