Go there. Test drive it with the fiance. Fall in love with it. Have the best road trip of your life with your new car. Win?

Anyway if that's too risky for you you can always just get a Kia lol........... And it's cheap plastic interior and weak (but reliable) engine...

I am not looking for power...looking for reliability.

If you've previously won the build off please pm me so we can get something worked out.

If you want something comfortable and for long Distance trips

i would say something like a Mercedes E or S class. Diesel

Diesel is very fuel economic so yeah. and a Mercedes  is very comfortable.

And offcourse allot of safety systems onboard aswell

Lol S class is basically a nightmare when it comes to maintenance costs. Can easaly be 20K a year.

E class is still really expensive in america...

Diesel is basically not adopted in america ( they think it's for tractors but we know better...) Team #Turbodieselunlimitedtoquesuperfastuglyenginenoise!

That was a hell of a #phase. Diesel is really expensive in iowa almost another dollar more.

I am not looking for power...looking for reliability.

One wise less a mechanic told me. In mountain areas/ High altitute, Power=reliability. One of the main reasons is that the air is thinner there and the car will first of all produce less horsepower (much less in some cases.) second of all a not so powerfull engine will work harder, more wear in the internal engine parts, more chance of failure. That's why people have big engines in remote locations/high locations and small engines in the city. ( excluding lambo/ferarri's and things like that.)

Here it's one of the cheapest fuels, but dutch government FUCKS us as it taxes diesels cars more heavier, making diesel cars only interesting if you drive alot.

yeah mercs are probably realy expensive in america lol :P

But basicly there are tons of cars to choose from.

Allot of people allways claim about VAG Volkswagon Audi Group is the best German reliabillity...

But those cars arent more reliable then any other brand anymore.

Times have changed, cars need to be manufacturerd as cheap as possible, also by volkswagon and audi.

Also most newer cars, the brand does not realy matter that much anymore, cause they use eachothers parts and what not.

Hybrid in the mountains is not a good idea.

The second car seems fine, lacking interior quality tho but if you're fine with some more plastic than an A4 it's a solid choice. Also maybe a little hard to drive with airconditioning on and ''climbing'' a steep mountain.

The Kia is actually a ford product, hence worthless.

Guess I never thought of that...makes since since billion kia here and ford are literally right next to each other.

If you've previously won the build off please pm me so we can get something worked out.

One great suggestion I have for you.

Go to an audi dealership, go visit any audi A4/A6 that's sold nearby ( doesn't even have to be in the price range.) Do a quick test drive ( obv. don't buy it.)

Go to the toyota, do a little test drive in that and see how you like it.

Repeat the steps with other cars.

Does this take a little time : Yes, but 100% no regret guarantee!

I used to do this when I was shopping a car for my uncle.

Mazdas used to use Ford-based engines, Dodge and Chrysler used Mitsubishi's engines for the Stratus and another model I don't remember - the Sebring? -, and the Dodge Dart's engine is based on Fiat's.

Closest dealership is sioux falls which is 2.5 hours for the audi dealerships. The only shop in town that can work on them can only do very specific things on it.

That sucks, well you are basically forced from german cars than. Btw mehcanics in your time SUCK big time than as audi's use the EXACT same diagnostic interface as almost every car ( including toyota etc.).

Um...20,000 dollar limit and I did my own search and an impala was the only thing that came up.

So next year I am looking for a newer higher end car for traveling and for my fiance to be driving daily. I got it narrowed down thanks to my other thread a couple days ago. It's between a jaguar, Audi, Subaru, Mercedes, Lexus, and BMW since I found a shop that can at least do some things to the car. Limit is 25k usd but can stretch a little. No newer than 2012 tho. It must have a rear view camera and a touchscreen along with a sunroof. I am currently looking at an a6. Suggestions. Needless to say it must be 4 doors and AWD along with being safe for a family and reliable for a long time.

??? In your OP, it said 25k...

Everyone with an Audi that I personally know has had some troubles with it. Not necessarily a lot of troubles, but some nagging issues. Sub's are G2G but expensive for what they are, so if your gal really wants to stay in the sub 13k range you can get more car somewhere else.

Where are you located?

If you can convince her to go to 20K I would look at a nicer G8. Parts are going to be considerably cheaper than an Audi or Subaru.

My mate's dad has a 2008 RS4 and it has had nothing bad happen to it.

I think this is the style I want

http://billionauto.com/View-Used-Vehicle-2012-Audi-A4-90043

With trade in and down payment we would be looking around the 20k mark...which will be financed.

If you've previously won the build off please pm me so we can get something worked out.
