I was looking at a 2011 Audi a6 fully loaded with 35k on it. And it has to be automatic sorry we have to many hills here to have a manual.

That's when you want the manual!

What models of each car are you trying to decide between?

The Jag, while nice, won't be nearly as reliable. The Infotainment is also very laggy.

I will list them all later tonight. I am at work atm and it's not very easy to list links on a phone.

If you've previously won the build off please pm me so we can get something worked out.

STFU. The WRX, even to 2012 is NOT high end. Look for a facelifted Audi A6 C6 with the V6 Quattro.

Reliable? With any of those?

HAH!

I don't know what you know about cars, but if you like having money then DONT get any of those used. Its not worth the risk when things break, and on cars like that they always break.

Get something slightly newer and not from any of those brands for the love of God. Lexus is honestly the only safe one but you're not getting something great for your pricerange.

Just cause British/German luxury seem cool doesn't make them practical at all, I know a thing or two about this. Don't do it.

One of the most expensive cars you can buy is a used German luxury car, and if you're wanting something reliable and long lasting, they aren't it. Not these days.

Even those, at $13k there are better values than Sub's :(

You Might be able to find a used G8 at that price.

repairs, out write ridiculous after about 70000km or over 43000 miles. Especially in the newer ones where everything is electronic, in order to find out why the engine light is one the car has to hooked up and scanned and dealerships/repair shops like to charge a premium for that. At a local shop here its $100 for a computer diagnostic.

They're not THAT bad, especially with Subaru.

The Jaguar is an exception. I'd avoid Mercedes and older Audi's, depending on the model.

BMW is pretty solid.

Everyone with an Audi that I personally know has had some troubles with it. Not necessarily a lot of troubles, but some nagging issues. Sub's are G2G but expensive for what they are, so if your gal really wants to stay in the sub 13k range you can get more car somewhere else.

Where are you located?

If you can convince her to go to 20K I would look at a nicer G8. Parts are going to be considerably cheaper than an Audi or Subaru.

I think you need to find a new shop to go to in that case. My mother has a 2006 bmw 650ci and she had the coolant expantion tank crack and leak. At my local shop, it cost $190 to have that replaced along with new radiator hoses and temp sensors.

I'll just say it, if you have a budget of 25k but don't have another 10-15k set aside for repairs, do not go for a German or British car at all. Just don't do it. Not worth it to have a "cool" car.

I know way more many cases of people with those kinds of cars who had pathetic and near bank account breaking issues than I do those who had problem free ownership.

There is absolutely nothing wrong in getting a Honda Accord or something similar for the same money (or less) and having a vehicle that will serve you wonderfully.

That's why ODB readers exist...

you still have to work at some point. So even if you bought a reader and found that there was electrical system failure because a decoration ring around the main headlight has gone, do you still want to flip the bill for $1000 repair because the entire front bumper has to come off plus various other components in order to change the single bulb that really is not affecting the safety of the vehicle?

Only if he's willing to seriously step up the number of miles on the car.

Have a look at what he wants in a car for the price, he is gonna have to give up somewhere.

BMW is pretty solid.

A buddy of mine and I did ball joints at the same time. My Focus and his 328i, I paid $60 for my ball joints, he was into it for almost $1000. Luxury cars are just plain more expensive. Period. There is no way to get around that. You can discuss whether or not they are worth it, but they certainly do cost more, to buy, and own.
