[Finished] The Renewal - 1080mm rad, 6700k, Z170 Asrock OC Formula, 980 Ti Matrix

Lays

Lays is my tag I go by online so I just added it to my first name for when I can't get "Lays" as a username, I use darrenlays / laysdarren instead.

(last name does start with an L though)

That's a shame, imagine the job you could get at frito-lays

Also my name isn't actually Norman. *shrugs*

Specs: 4790k | Asus Z-97 Pro Wifi | MX100 512GB SSD | NZXT H440 Plastidipped Black | Dark Rock 3 CPU Cooler | MSI 290x Lightning | EVGA 850 G2 | 3x Noctua Industrial NF-F12's

Bought a powermac G5, expect a mod log sometime in 2015

Corsair is overrated, and Anime is ruined by the people who watch it

UPS is a bit retarded via eBay....

I use the eBay calculator to look at shipping cost to bill the guy, ebay says it's 39.55$, UPS.com says $64, so I quote him what ebay tells me. (39.55)

Login to paypal and pay the shipping after filling out all the stuff via eBay, $51.88 with 8$ discount ($43)

Case sold for $162.49 + the shipping cost, I should get $150 from it after stupid ebay fees.

Anooooooooooootherrrrrr delay.

I sent the cables back to icemodz so he could fix em right?   He went to the post office today and they accidentally shipped them back to me thinking he mis-labled his cables I believe.

What he's going to do is make the cables right now, and ship them ASAP, then when my cables show up at my house (the returned ones) I'll ship them back and take a picture of the receipt.

He's going to pay for the return shipping to him for the returned cables.

Wonderful guy very good service lol, just so sad it's being such a hassle :(

Some good news: Since my 900D sold, I have ~370$ in paypal, and $45 in my wallet that I'll deposit to paypal soon.  The watercooling parts are ~560$, and my Mom is "hopefully" paying me $200 next week (from the money she owes me still).   I also have an xbox 360 250gb + a few games + fittings + fan controller + 2TB HDD to sell as well, so I'll have extra money leftover for my desk+ other stuff. (That should net to ~350$ hopefully.)

I "should" *crosses fingers* be making more updates + finishing the build this month, hopefully around the ~15th-20th.

Sidenote:  Got the 4790k to 5ghz and booted into windows, but crashed shortly after. My 212 evo can't handle stress testing it at 5ghz, but it is good that it booted into windows at all at 5ghz. (It did handle 4.9 ghz stress testing though, which was stable)  I also got my 290x lightning to 1225mhz on the core barely touching voltage at all, so with a waterblock it should EASILY do 1300+ I reckon. (Maybe even 1400? :D)

I think the 4790k will do 5.1 on water if I delid it + get the delid die guard for my m power tbh. Maybe even 5.2.   (Definitely not 24/7 though, I should be able to do 5 ghz 24/7 though I think.)

All this back & forth isn't costing you extra, right?

And great job on the overclocks. :3

It cost me money to ship the cables back, (24$) but he said when I ship them again, he'd pay me for the shipping.

So so far it's just cost me the original cost of the cables, and $24. (Thank god)

I really think I may be able to do 5 ghz 24/7 with reasonable temps once I get the custom loop together.  *Crosses fingers*

am scared about the hard tubing, never done it before but I'll figure it out quickly hopefully

Almost there!

Ugh, I hate you all for your 4790K's. I have the most annoying 4770K. -_- I can hardly get 4.5GHz at 1.3v, and 1.3v with a Haswell and a H100i is really, really hot... (Plus mine somehow worked its way loose from the block, as P95 takes it past 100C, yet full load in anything else at 1.3v is only 20C over ambient).

Update guys, this morning some idiots stole a car near my house and ran into the power line, so that was fun.  LOUD tire squeals then about 10 seconds later there was a giant boom noise, then the power cut out.  Pics below:

Also, I believe I have enough money to buy all of the watercooling parts, and my cables from icemodz show up next week around Monday/ Wednesday!!!!

ITS HAPPENINGGGGGG

I find stuff like that absolutely stupid, I see absolutely no reason to spend that much money on some of these builds that people do, spending upwards of $10,000 when they're never going to even use the full potential of the PC, not to mention in 1-2 years those parts will have the same performance as mid-range parts that cost 1/4 of the price.
