RATE THE PC SPECS ABOVE YOU :)

thetechdude

The ram is not mixed its 2x 4gig sticks.

Corsair GS series is proving to be very good. look into it.

I don't see how a 770 is midrange considering it's in the $400 market.  wouldn't midrange be more low 6 series, or 5 series

What the hell are you talking about? I'm not even rating your rig for god's sake.

I would give it 7/10.

+CPU.  overclocked to 4.6GHz. That's actually a great overclock.

+GPU. Great mid-range GPU. Gainward is a great brand too.

-RAM. 10GB RAM would mean mixing RAMs of  8/4/2 GB to make it 10GB. Personally I'm not a fan of mixing RAMs, it could cause problems.

-PSU. I've never heard of that PSU before. I wouldn't trust my rig to run on that PSU.

+Great mid-range GPU, but its not high-end. It might struggle with some demanding games.

I've personally ran mixed ram chips for the past 8 years and I've never had any RAM related problems so I call bull on anyone saying otherwise, or they are using incorrect timing (for example trying to use a higher timing than the weakest ram stick can handle) here's the combo I use atm: enl75s.png

The PSU manufacturer usually makes OEM products, but it does the job quite well and I know they are reliable as I've done my research and waited to see what a friend of mine's does before buying mine. (corsair and others cost way too much for the budget I had damn third world country)

ACTUAL REASON I POSTED:

I can't believe you didn't diss Biostar in your comment, that was the first thing I was expecting the next person to attack.

anyways yea 4.6 GHz is all I need :P

I'll give it a 8.5. Not a big fan of FX CPUs and single fan closed loop water coolers (most air coolers match their performance or have even better performance).

New rig of mine - bear in mind it's for a specific use :).

Hyrikan's NAS:

Case: Fractal Design Node 304 (love that case, it's so functional for its size)

Mobo: ASRock FM2 A85X (FM2 ITX MoBo)

CPU: AMD A8 5800K (I know it's overkill,but I got it for 25 bucks from a friend)

PSU: BeQuiet! SFX Power 350W

SSD (for OS): Some old 60GB SanDisk SSD

HDDs: Currently 4 WD Reds in RAID 10 - in a few weeks i'll add another 2 Reds and run in RAID 5

  • Primary PC: i7-3770K@4,6GHz | Thermalright Macho | ASRock Z77 Extreme 4 | 16 GB Corsair Vengeance@1866MHz | 2x Gigabyte 660ti 3GB@1130MHz | 256 GB Samsung 840 | WD Black 1TB | BeQuiet! DarkPower Pro 650W | Zalman Z11

9.95/10 RAID 0 HDDs....why?

Because my brain apparently of the opinion that RAID1 is now known as RAID10 xD... No, just a typo.

Can't say much about your rig, It's a really solid setup, I can't point my finger at anything, I like that case, maybe the CPU you could push it up abit, and got to love the SLI setup, all and all it's all great, ofc you could upgrade the machine but as it is, great setup.

Phenoms are awesome. I'm guessing it's a few years old but is a fairly high end build when it was new. Would recommend faster RAM and GPU overclock for newer games. Overall a solid build. I don't hate on Intel and Nvidia, I just love AMD and AMD/ATI more. :D

7/10 for a low-mid gaming pc

Pentium isn't so good for gaming, would be better if you got fx6300. Nvidia 650 would be fine on that res.
