The Console War is Over: PC Already Won

Despite a declining overall PC market, gaming systems are alive and well. So alive, in fact, that the PC gaming segment is already twice the size of the console gaming market – and growing. A report just released by John Peddie Research (JPR) claims that the PC gaming market will tip $21.5B this year and grow to over $23B in 2017.

 

 

 

Pollak continued with, “Committed PC gamers are generally not interested in pure content consumption platforms. They are power users and pay thousands for the ability to play games at very high settings and then do business, video/photo editing, content creation and other tasks with maximum horsepower at their disposal in a desktop ergonomic environment.” A gaming PC’s utility is another reason for the segment’s continued success. Many console purists lament the PC’s relatively high price tag as a deterrent for some consumers. But the fact remains that worthwhile gaming PC may initially cost more than a console, the gaming PC can simply do more than a console. And what they both do, the PC typically does better. In addition, there are a multitude of games available for the PC at a fraction of the price of most console titles. It’s far easier for a PC gamer to amass a large collection of games, for a fraction of the price of console games

true my over 120 games are no match for my 30 playstation games i own

Space Journal #1: So Apparently i  was dropped on the moon like i'm a mars rover, in a matter of hours i have found the transformers on the dark side of the moon. Turns out its not that dark since dem robots are filled with lights, i waved hi to the Russians on the space station, turns out all those stories about space finding humans instead of the other way around is true(soviet Russia joke). They threw me some Heineken beer and I've been sitting staring at the people of this forum and earth since.

I only read what was quoted here in the OP but doesn't everyone know this by now? Everything quoted is pretty much the common argument among all PC gamers why it's the ideal platform for gaming.

I never understood why people have this debate.

 

Because while the pc is predominate platform in nearly every sense, game developers (where the core reason for having a gaming pc comes from) make more money from consoles.  There are many ways to rate a products proliferation, it can be by popularity, cost, revenue generation or by profit.  So in this case however it is the business of game development that is causing all the debates/headaches. 

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.

Mercy is required to some small degree as to prevent sparking a rebellion, but I'm still in favor of some changes to the gaming industry. I would be satisfied with the switch from what is now, primarily, game development for consoles with low quality PC ports, to a system where PC games are given priority and consoles get to have the ports. If you pay for a low power console you should get low quality games, and at the end of the day they shouldn't mind, because "resolution is just a number" right?

Reparations should include PC exclusive AAA titles, PC optimized graphics and controller settings and the banning of the moniker "next gen".

Until game developers find more profits per game on the PC, consoles will always get priority from AAA devel

But this shouldn't be that big a deal to you, The the strongest reason for me to own a gaming PC is to enjoy indie titles, mods, and innovative new features not found or possible om consoles.

Despite the fact that PC gaming is WAY ahead of console gaming, console fanboys still continue to argue why PC gaming is bad through use of logical fallacies.
