Sapphire R9 270x used for gaming.

Thinking about swapping it with a 280x or 290

i would go with a 290, 2x270x is as fast as 1 290(x) so i would go with that upgrade even though the 280x is a beast card

(but let's be honest, no one smart would really use them for gaming)

I bought 2 because I wanted the equivilent of 6gb TIs in SLI. :( Seriously tho I'm glad I did. I'm running 3 1080p BenQs. :P

The 780 Ti's would have been more than enough for 3 1080p monitors.

Um, maybe, but at what AA?

5760x1080 takes up a lot of real estate without the bonus of 4k pixel density clarity. I dont think the Ti's 3gb would be ideal unless you kill AA.

I think it would have been fine for the most part. I really don't see the point in gaming on three monitors, but that's just me.

CUDA doesn't really play well with Vegas.

It's a starting point and I didnt want to wait for the next series. Also, once a decent 4k monitor hits a market I plan on switching (because **** bezels).

And even tho 1080p and 1440p will remain the standards for quite some time, the industry will still continue to shift past 3gb. It needs to. Texture density, layering, mapping, there are still tons ways to eat up memory at current resolutions. They have a looong way to go before achieving (to coin a phrase) perfect 1080p fidelity.

Eh. 3GB is fine for now. Next year or the year after is when it's really going to get affected.

Totally agree for single panel or <4k users.

Admittedly I could have waited but I built a completely new system and didnt want to hold back on anything. Everything gets outdated anyways and you can eternally wait for tech thats always a quarter away. Sometimes you just have to commit.

I never stated my reason btw. Star Citizen. I'm also cautiously excited about Doom4.

Eh. I still don't see the point, one monitor should be enough. Having 3 for gaming is just weird to me, 3 for work or productivity is fine though.

I've thought about 1440p, but I don't want to buy another 290. I'll wait one more generation and maybe get a new gpu and monitor.

You wouldn't need another 290 for 1440p gaming.
