@MeltyMoon

You need to put a numbered requirements for screenshot in your main post. I was not sure on what is required in the shot so I took randomly thought out shot of what I think is feasible, but only to find out that you listed out more in your form section. And even that is just bunch of wording, which may be confusing to some.

List them out as, for example

1. CPU-Z main tab

2. Prime95 start time

3. Core temp

4. Etc

Also, an example screenshot would be great, as it will keep things very easy to understand, and keep a standard for all.

Do you have a CPU backplate cutout on your case?

I don't know cuz I don't know what a CPU backplate cutout is.  My case is the HAF 912.

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S

Behind where the CPU socket is on the motherboard there should be a hole.

Sure, just change your title :P

@StormEye My apologies if you thought the process was confusing! I understand that it is a lot of text, thank you for your suggestion! I updated the OP with a quick sample section ;)

@MeltyMoon

Could you correct the colour label for my entry as purple instead of green? I have ran the test for nearly 8 hours and it should be in purple, unless I am reading something wrong from the original post.

I know it's old, but I got a Q6600 at 3Ghz on stock air cooling! and it stays under 100F. Unfortunately, my motherboard died, so the system is nonfunctional until I get a direct replacement. Good CPU, bad motherboard. ATM, since no motherboard, system dead, so no pics or stress testing at the moment.

this is probably the only place i'll hang out anymore: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/274320-the-long-awaited-car-thread/

Current Rig: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, Abit IN9-32MAX nForce 680i board, Galaxy GT610 1GB DDR3 gpu, Cooler Master Mystique 632S Full ATX case, 1 2TB Seagate Barracuda SATA and 1x200gb Maxtor SATA drives, 1 LG SATA DVD drive, Windows 10. All currently runs like shit :D

Prior to my BIOS update I was able to achieve a 4.8GHz overclock on my i7 3820 easily, however now with the new 4802 BIOS I was able to get it stable at 4.5GHz. One cool thing about the new BIOS though is that apparently there is glitch, which allows you to run at a constant voltage when Lad Line Calibration is set to 75%. Anyways, I submitted an entry for my current 4.5GHz overclock until I have the time to thinker around and achieve my previous clock speeds.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 - 3900x @ 4.4GHz with a Custom Loop | MBO: ASUS Crosshair VI Extreme | RAM: 4x4GB Apacer 2666MHz overclocked to 3933MHz with OCZ Reaper HPC Heatsinks | GPU: PowerColor Red Devil 6900XT | SSDs: Intel 660P 512GB SSD and Intel 660P 1TB SSD | HDD: 2x WD Black 6TB and Seagate Backup Plus 8TB External Drive | PSU: Corsair RM1000i | Case: Cooler Master C700P Black Edition | Build Log: here

Awesome :) That glitch sounds rather interesting!

I sent mine in, but as I am a pretty big PC and overclocking noob, it's not much.

i7 4770k at 4.2Ghz with a kraken x60 AIO

I'm still in the works of where my limits are for this setup. Currently working on getting 4.3 stable and so on and so forth.

Makin' and breakin' wafers.

I am going to try to hit 4.8Ghz on my i7 4960X.

I think I read somewhere on web about someone binned through 45 or so 4960X and he found that only 2% was able to hit 4.8Ghz. around 45% or so hit 4.6Ghz (which I am currently running at).

Lets see if I am that 2%.

Very affordable hobby indeed, wish I could buy 45 4960Xs. Let me know how you get on!

I reached 4.8Ghz with 1.48V, but I hit thermal threshold and it started to throttle back.

At least I know my chip is able to handle the voltage and that clock speed, but I am just not comfortable running that extreme (even if I get custom loop).

So, I backed it down to 4.6Ghz again. I think its performance is more than adequate and stays cool, so I just stuck with it.

Nice, I doubt the CPU is gonna slow you down any time soon :)
