Well depends on where you live, but it's ok, I'd say.

Mine is around 12 down and 0.8 up... It's ok for me... Well i wish it could be faster, but impossible right now. Where i live there is only two internet/tv/phone providers. One that i used to have was up to 100 Mb/s range, but it was very inconsistent and always braking down, at least in my area.

The other that i have now, in my area, that is "non fiber" area, can achieve a maximum of 24 Mb/s, other areas can get to 100 Mb/s, Since it uses a different technology, when the TVs are on it uses a significantly percentage of the broadband, So in my PC it only gets around 12 Mb/s down. But at least now, it is a very consistent, reliable and stable internet.

It's average not "shit" as you put it... I wish I had that living near a small village we get nothing.

Hence why I edited my post ;)

But honestly, that kinda of a connection is garbage. We were capable of having speed like that in 1995. It's 2014

Garbage

Even a 50/5 is kinda sheit

For a normal consumer, 50/5 is more than enough...

Only if you pirate a lot, higher is better.

I have 50/10, and to be honest, I actually don't really need it.

That is a bit of an over statement considering in 1995 most of the world was on dial-up...

No that makes me want to punch the person in charge of UK internet in the face for not providing the right service.

I have 50/10 and it sucks ass. I wish I had fibre. It takes over 2 hours to upload a highly compressed video only 30 mins long.... :(

50/5 is not more than enough. At least not in my house. We have a 75/10 connection and I know for a fact we utilize that A LOT.

Reasons:

  • Dad RDP's into work A LOT of can at times use a lot of bandwidth.
  • I download games.
  • I download quite a few things from MSDN

I have 50/10 with comcast. I use up all of the bandwidth quite a lot of the time, and the only problem for me is the data cap. (and NO I don't pirate stuff)
