Metro Last Light low FPS

Hey Linus Tech Tips,

I recently bought Metro Last Light on Steam and I seem to be not getting very good FPS even though I turned down anti-aliasing and other settings.  The specs on my rig are an Intel Core i7 4770K, AMD Radeon R9 270X, 8 GB DDR3 RAM, 120 GB SSD with a 1 TB HDD, an Asus Z87-A motherboard and Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit for my operating system.  Is this a issue related to my hardware or a software related issue?

CPU: Core i7 4770k, RAM: 8GB DDR3 GSkill Ripjaws X, PSU: OCZ 700W, GPU: AMD Radeon R9 270X, Case: Fractal Design Define R4 Black Pearl, Cooler: Noctua NH-D14

Hmm the 270X is a bit on the lower side, if you turn your graphics down all the way does it still have low fps?

What exact settings are you using? And if the PhysX option is available, you should make sure that's turned off.

Try turning down things other options, Metro is pretty demanding so I wouldn't be surprised if your 270x couldn't run it.

google and see if there are some setting bug, such as in Assassins Creed Black flag you cant use physix, if you use that you will bomb from stable 60 to 23-25 in some areas.

270X is pretty low end considering the notoriously good graphics of last light. Go for medium settings overall, or failing that try the lowest settings and if there is no improvement it will likely be a driver issue.

Everything said by me is my humble opinion and nothing more, unless otherwise stated.

That happened to me! I was getting about 10fps on ultra with my 660ti and 3770k but then I reinstalled the game and messed about with the AA and it fixed it, I was getting around 70FPS on ultra at 1080p after that.

no, with a 660ti and 3770k I was getting an avarage 70Fps so his 270x should be ok.

Don't even think about turning on SSAA. Make sure that's off, make sure that PhysX is off, and set your graphics preset to medium.

If you still have problems after this, it's a driver issue.

Everybody either says I have an amazing 660ti or that I'm lying lol, I don't know why, I just get really really good performance for some reason and have always thought benchmarks were really low
