is AMD stupid or me?

Timopomer
Go to solution Solved by Timopomer,

If it's an Asus board, just open AI Suite and put the fan profile on silent.

Oh and in regards to your question... You.

wow i tried that and noticed its way better now,and now ive seen you said that! thanks!!!! its not quiet "silent" but not a leafblower

hey there,im finally running my gaming pc but even at idle the stock heat sink is good WOOOOOOSH like a leaf blower

d0l4QwN.png

why is the cooler running 4500 RPM when the cpu is running at 28 degrees ? it doesnt make any sence! why does it make so much noise for nothing,i wouldnt mind the cpu running at 40 degrees without the leafblower noise

lol if the fans are connected to your motherboard have a look in the BIOS to see what kind of control is happening if any.

Did you try setting PWM settings in your bios?

Edit: /Just/ beat me to it!

But uh, mess with PWM settings in your BIOS and make sure the settings are right. (assuming this is a pwm fan)

Thanks for your awesome contribution to this forum and this man seeking help from us.

@Timopomer  You have to connect the CPU fan to a 4-pin connector, usually above the CPU and set it to auto control in the BIOS. Some motherboard (the ASRock I have) have a minimum speed for the PWM control. Set it to the minimum if this setting is present.

Double check you are connected to the 4 pin CPU fan socket and not a generic 3 pin. Only the 4 pin will be able to auto adjust voltage on the fly.

Yeah, even my crappy GT610 can't get below 40C.

Yep my R9 280X idles at about 30C, though it often idles at ~45C probably due to bad temp sensors or bad thermal paste application. AMD CPUs should be a tad hotter than 28C though.
