$8000 full watercooled trifire... wasted

Sonefiler
Go to solution Solved by MG2R,

This thread is the exact opposite of what was envisioned when this forum

was first created. This forum was intended as a place where newbies are

welcome. Where people can ask a question without being yelled at. A

place with a nice atmosphere.

90% of all responses in this thread do not adhere to that vision and are

basically not contributing to a friendly atmosphere at all. It's because of

threads like these that newbies often don't feel welcome and are too

scared to ask for help, which in turn results in builds like the one this

thread is about.

I'd advise all of you to look back in time and question yourself if you were

all-knowing when you first started building computers. Look in the mirror

and honestly answer yourself the question "did I ever make any mistakes?".

Maybe it can help you start being nicer to people that do make them.

We talked this over, and because of all of the above, I'm locking this thread.

It doesn't adhere to the "don't be a dick" rule and, honestly, I'm saddened

by the fact that a thread like this was needed on the forums.

So... While helping someone in the PSU section i looked up 1500W+ PSUs that were modular on PCPartPicker. I selected the LEPA G series one and looked at the build that showed up at the "builds that used this part" section. Oh dear lord, it's the most wasteful computer in the world.

First of all, he has a modular PSU and he leaves in ALL THE CABLES.

He has Raid 10 for GAMING. He thinks Raid 10 is professional! No, Raid 6/7/60/70 is for professionals.

He thinks that the reason his watercooled CPU hits 93C is because of a "bad bin". No dude, it's because your loop sucks.

Stop that computer, 93C is about as good for that CPU as heroin!

His picture taking skills are horrendous.

He has a HAF X and he puts a radiator hanging out of the back. Are you serious?

HE USED GORILLA TAPE FOR CABLE MANAGEMENT HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

His inside of his case looks like a two year old was given a PC case, a ton of tubes, and told "do what you liked"

I could go on and on and on, but you can see for yourself. http://pcpartpicker.com/b/xbWZxr#cx405213

Snipped

Let the guy be. He likes his build. Just because you don't agree with his choices doesn't mean he is wrong.

But here I am, telling someone earlier that a G10 is a waste so I guess I shouldn't be talking. lol

Edit: Looked at link. disregard what's above. HOLLLEEYYYY BALLS what did that guy do

Edit #2: Around his CPU why the hell are there so many wires and tubing. What could he possibly have that would make the tubing cross 3 times right over the CPU?

While I agree it's a terrible build, I can only facepalm at your comments on the storage.

At first I thought this a bit of an over-reaction. Then I looked at the pictures and sweet baby Jesus do I feel queasy now.

I even saw SAV1OUR down there in the comments lol.

The build is so awful, I wish I had those 8k myself, at least I would have cable managed the thing!

Excuse me, buying a modular PSU, leaving all the cables in and then using GORILLA TAPE to cable manage is wrong no matter who you are.

SSDs are different. But he's managing cables that he could've just taken out, and he's not even routing them through the holes! He's just sticking them to the sides of the large part of the case!
