Could you possibly get a smaller case. I want one as small as possible (sff). Thats why I did't get an atx psu. Maybe I could get a case that supports a flex psu. could you recommend a good flex psu? they are expensive though....

I feel like you’d be far better off on this budget getting some kind of sff office pc with at least one low profile pcie slot and adding like an RX 550 or 6400 to it.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/276381758530

https://www.ebay.com/itm/256307785066
it wouldn’t be as small but it would perform significantly better while still being pretty small

what's the problem with the pico psu? could you recommend a better one? getting a bigger case and an sfx psu (which is also expensive) would be tricky to fit in my budget.

psu looks fine, but my pc will only use like 120w, since its apu based.

it's more expensive yes but it fits in budget and allows you to get a dgpu later on (same goes for the case)

It's for if you want to put in a dgpu later on

Basically what you’re asking for is outside of the realm of realistic builds unless you compromise heavily on some components. Which you have done by listing a risky choice of pico psu. A good pico psu costs like twice what that one does, so seeing one that cheap, where did they cut the costs?

And then buying a new ryzen apu system on a $300 budget is just questionable overall, especially when you’re trying to game on it.
With a $300 budget, anything new should be the last thing to look at. I understand the desire for SFF in general, but at $300 you could be getting basically someone’s old tower and a GTX 1080 and playing anything you want.
That’s not something super consistent to pull off, so an office pc build is a lot more attainable, and gets pretty close to that level of SFF.

Small, cheap and reliable; You can get two out of three, but never all three equally. You will always sacrifice one for the other two. If small and cheap are your most important factors, then your build you currently have meets those criteria.

Personally I would give up some size for more reliable parts.

For some reason, since ive gotten into PC building, I have this desire to build one again. Thats mainly the reason I'm doing this build. and I want to try a mini itx build since I have never done one before. idk why. Im weird.

RAM is CL22, CL16 is much better and only $4 more

SSD is SATA, which is worse than PCIe for not much less

Case is small but doesn't allow you to get a dgpu down the line (because of the psu)

pico psu is bad quality

so use the white case that I linked above, if you don't need it to be THAT small then you can use that itx case above. It'll be easier to build in, and more upgradable as well as being as cheap, most likely more reliable as well

ok, ima get better ram and the SSD u suggested. could you tell me the dimensions of the build. And also, if the pico psu is good, then ima just make the build in this case:https://www.amazon.com/Goodisory-0-6mm-Desktop-Computer-Chassis/dp/B08PFH1W6P/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2248XBOGLAFA6&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.HeLHoDyf5RQ5RY8AtZLpcxvMxrUho6tP_hgdV4Sq39PGjHj071QN20LucGBJIEps.Z-7EPF893OuXRNpiKTc2qbfAb0j2GBQkgD1O-Xpc0Qc&dib_tag=se&keywords=mini+itx+no+gpu+case&qid=1713798439&refinements=p_36%3A-2500&rnid=386442011&sprefix=mini+itx+no+gpu+cas%2Caps%2C136&sr=8-1

not gonna get or upgrade to a GPU.
