I am on an airplane right now, using gogo inflight wifi.

I am curious as to your traveling experiences. What was your worst traveling experience? What was your best?

Lol we just went through a little turbulance, lots of fun.

My 8 year old brother is usually fine on these flights, bur he has seen lots of movies of flights going wrong so he is having a hard time.

gogo gave me a code to have free wifi on this flight because I complaned about the prices changing

sleeping outside in the snow

swimming in ice water

stuff like that

My best travel experience is when i decided to just drive around in france last year when i was there.

And i found this little gem^^ As a history nerd i was just drawn to it.

My worst is when i stopped at a rest stop and had to use the toilet. It looked alright at first. But after a while i noticed a hole in the wall... 
Some of you might know what a hole between two bathroom stalls is... And then the person in the other stall poked a certain bodypart through...

Unfortunately for that guy.. My reaction was to slap at it with all my might... I don't know what language he was swearing in but i don't think he was saying very nice things.

Probably my month long motorcycle trip through the mediterranean. I visited France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Monaco and Germany. It had such a good trip. I saw so many beautiful sights and ate a lot of good food.

 

Worst:

This one is hard, but it was probably the time I was on a roadtrip in the southern US. In a small town in Alabama, I was chased nearly 2 miles (get the metric system already) by some guys that hated me for being a "Commi bastard faggot". I am neither a communist nor a homosexual, but that didn't stop them. 

After i got back to my hotel, I called the police and they just said they couldn't do anything, but if they showed up at the hotel, I should call them again.

Needless to say, i packed my car, and left the town that same night.

Atleast I didn't get rock thrown after me. They just ran after me, and wanted to beat me up. 

I would also like to point out that they were quite drunk. This all started out in a bar. Probably should have said that in my first post.

The best experience: well... The only ones I'd call good would be the times I actually got to an actual town from this ****hole... Though I only get further than 20 kilometers from my home municipality maybe 1 - 3 times a year (were poor... Go figure...) so I basically don't get to travel anywhere.

 

The worst experience: maybe the time I was stuck at Vaalimaa border crossing point (a one border crossing point between Russia and Finland) for a good while, without passports... My mother drove us to a bit wrong direction... Still though, that's the furthest away I've ever been from home. To put in perspective, out of all the classmates in the high school I attend to, I'm the only one who has never been abroad, and that will stay so for the next few years at least.

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

friends of mine are going to Thailand this week for the honeymoon .... :blink: , they think its going to be fine

 

best = 2 weeks riding through kosciuszko national park

 

worst = dealing with drunk students for a week when we where spose to be doing field work

Its all about those volumetric clouds

I like to travel.  A lot.

My best travel experience is all.

My worst travel experience is none.  Even the bad ones are still good.  :V

 

I once went up to North Bay with my friends, and we got onto the topic of cheesecake (I think I brought it up, cuz I really badly wanted cheesecake :v).  So they asked me "why don't you just buy cheesecake if you want it so bad?" and then I went on some rant about Steam sales and how Gaben stole my cheesecake.  :v  One of my friends was sleeping (cuz it was liek, 1am at this point (this was on the drive up there)), and I was yelling about how Gaben stole my cheesecake with Steam sales.  This woke my friend up and she was still basically completely asleep, so asked something liek "wha-?", and then I yelled in the most high pitched voice "GABEN STOLE MY CHEESECAKE!! ;A;!".

 

I can't really explain it very well.  It's one of those things you had to be there for.

I love to travel. It might just be the second biggest pleasure in my life.

I would like to travel more, but between family, work and school I don't really have the time.

 

My best trip so far, was probably my 3 week motorcycle trip through the Mediterranean, that I did by myself. I visited Portugal, Spain, France, Switzerland, Italy, San Marino and drove home through Austria and Germany.

It might just be tied with my trip to Tokyo this summer. While a lot of the thigs we saw, wasn't my cup of tea, it was awazing for my wife. I have never seen her as excited as she was in Tokyo, and that made whole trip worth it.

 

My worst is also a tie.

Mombay was not  a bad experience, but I would never want to visit again. It's smelly, noisy, there was nothing of interest to see (atleast for me) and when I got home, I felt like I had been a 2 pack a day smoker for my entire life, due to the heavy smog.

The other one is the Louisiana part of my roadtrip in the American south

One night I went to a bar, and the more drunk people got, the more they hated me. It all culminated in them calling me a "faggot communist", and chasing me through the streets.

When I got back to my motel, I called the police, and they wouldn't help me. They just said "If they show up, then call us again". 

I didn't feel comfortable sleeping in the motel, so I had to flee town.
