Purely for gaming?  7800X3D All the way.

Its not always about the highest FPS but also the 1% lows ( stutter ) in dark blue.

There is absolutely no reason to go for 13th or 14th gen Intel if you're already on a 5000 series AMD as you can pick 5800X3D and get the same or better results in gaming most of the time without any platform changes.

IMO the CPU you have now is still plenty good and you should probably just hold onto it at least until next gen of X3D CPUs on AM5 releases if you want to go that path anyways.

7800x3D is best in class in multiple ways, average framerate, framerate stability/consistency, power consumption.

There's a feeling of skepticism that tons of people have with how much better it is, so there must be a catch, but there really isn't. Its simply the best product for a gaming PC that exists which replaced the 5800x3D being really the 2nd best gaming CPU but not far off a 13600K/14600k (excluding R9 7000x3D CPUs, they're all the class really).

That is a complete BS and these websites are a joke. Just ignore it...

1.) There is no way to calculate a bottleneck for general use

2.) There will always be a bottleneck somewhere in the system no matter how much money you'll spend

If you can afford the 7800X3D, absolutely go for it 🙂

It will give the 3070 Ti all its chance to go max power.

There is a reason we own the 7800x3d, or a variant of.

You can listen to us or simply look up comparisons.  It's not like there isn't 500000 YouTube videos showing it ...

3070ti is decent but won't last you too much longer as vram may become an issue at 4k.

At 4k it's literally already maxed by a 5700x with EXTREME ease.

4k basically always means the gpu is going to be the thing holding you back the most as it's just VERY hard to drive.

Anyways best gaming cpu right now is the 7800x3d it's a non contest.

Fyi look at megekko they have a deal goin on to get some steam credit

dont get 2 or 4 sticks, get one 32 GB kit which will come with a pair of sticks that were desgined to run with each other, that will offer the best performance

good kits to buy

without RGB

https://be.pcpartpicker.com/product/DgVmP6/gskill-trident-z5-neo-32-gb-2-x-16-gb-ddr5-6000-cl30-memory-f5-6000j3038f16gx2-tz5n

Theyre identical sticks in both looks and performance, one just has an RGB bar built in, solely depends on if you want that aesthetic choice

System specs:

CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D [-30 PBO all core]

GPU: Sapphire AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT NITRO+ [1050mV, 2.8GHz core, 2.6Ghz mem]

RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO RGB 32GB 6000MHz CL32 DDR5

Storage: 2TB SN850X, 1TB SN850 w/ heatsink, 500GB P5 Plus (OS Storage)

Hi, quick question again here, the supported ram according to AMD

2x1R DDR5-5200
2x2R DDR5-5200

should i then get DDR5-6000 ?

Is this with the 7800X3D and strix board? 6000CL30 is the sweet spot to run and your board and cpu should be able to handle them without issue

You should mount a different AIO on top.  NZXT makes midrange crap for 2x the price.  But if that's your theme, then yeah on top.

You should mount a different AIO on top.  NZXT makes midrange crap for 2x the price.  But if that's your theme, then yeah on top.

oh i never OC the cpu, only factory Boost. and i take NZXT because all my fans then can sync up with the NZXT Cam software because i have this controller for it

That's what I mean, the factory boost will push the chip as far as temps allow.

Sorry, I was thinking of another chip.  The X3D will be fine, it doesn't need a lot of cooling.  You'll be fine.

Not sure why I was thinking you were getting a 13th gen intel, may have mixed up threads.

Again, more than enough cooling for the 7800X3D.   Look at some PBO/CO guides to reduce temps and power draw as well, if you want.

Posted (edited)

Just installed the PC and just noticed that the store send me the wrong ram 😄

i asked for 2 sets of 2x8gb but they send me 2x16 kits and now i have 64gb ram

the build is finished though. however the ram did cause some hickups at first so i had to update the bios and now its working fine.

however now I’m getting a lot of issues with rebooting.  It takes up to 15min to reboot at times….. and the led is on for the ram
