Using a USB flash drive with other system formats such as NTFS or exFAT will not allow you to update the BIOS, format it to fat32

If that doesn't work what about re flashing the 13th gen processor thing as it is almost like it isn't registering my processor.

Or is that just me?

It unfortunately doesn't seem to have made a difference

And the QF led did nothing again

Nope was too big so will do a walk through in photos instead

Selected the top 4 files and copied them to the already formatted usb.

Changed the name.

Although do I have to remove the processor as well?

Right so score so far is I have had the QF light do a bunch of fast flashes then a solid light then tun off, so I am unsure if that means it is none or not.

Unfortunately no luck so I'm not sure what to do now

Does this mean my CPU is not supported by my board?

My CPU is a i9 13900KF

What CPU do you have? There's a difference between 13900 (which you indicated above), 13900K, and 13900KF. The KF variant does not include a iGPU.

Ah ok sorry for my mistake I assumed they were all the same. 🤦

It is the i9-13900KF

That would explain why it isn't working with integrated graphics

I have someone that has offered to test my GPU today/this weekend so that might tell me if it is broke or not.

Thanks Chapunna for your help 👍.

I have contacted gigabyte to see if it is an issue with the bord or any fixes they recommend.

I will post again if I need any more help

I have just re tried the BIOS flash having reformatted the usb and redownload the update.

This time the lights worked:

Total time until fan on PSU stopped 4 mins 10 secs.

Slow blink and PSU fan started at 40 secs.

Light stopped at 3 mins but PSU fan boosted for a second or so.

Is all of this normal?

Oh do I have to have ram installed

I thought the integrated ram in my GPU would be ok for the moment at least.

Did you ever install RAM? With no ram the computer isn't going to post or create a display image.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

Not other than the ram in the GPU

I don't know why other people were trying to get you to try to update bios and try with and without the graphics card with no ram. BIOS incompatibility or not, there would still be no POST and no display out.

The VRAM on the GPU isn't shared. You need ram for the CPU.

Your CPU is supported by that motherboard. The picture you circled that says "none" is talking about integrated graphics. That's just Gigabyte telling you that you won't have graphics output without a dedicated graphics card.

There's a lot of very weird choices with this build. I'm curious how you ended up at this parts list.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

No real rhyme or reason tbh.

The PSU and GPU were offered by a friend who was upgrading and yeah so that's the reason behind those bits.

As for the CPU that was the only bit I planned for really.

And the motherboard was just kinda based on the fact that it was a known brand and seemed to go with the rest of it according to pcpartpicker.com

Yeah basically just a Mish mash of random bits.

That board will have problems running the 13900kf under full load. The VRMs just aren't up to it. That's a board you'd expect to see with an i3 or i5...

Ok,

So just out of interest what would you recommend as a board for my current processor.

And should I go with single/dual or quad channel RAM for my current board?

And I would have thought that even without RAM I would still get a BIOS display or have I got a lot of wires crossed.

Right so update.

I have added ram and a GPU but I still have no image displaying.

I am concerned about a red light that has turned on as the led is marked CPU.

Does this mean anything?
