Most often it's due to the +2 part got misaligned just right before entry.

The 6+2 should be able to get "aligned" before they are inserted, they lock into each other, but it's very weak lock basically they don't hold but can lock for easier plug in

Make sure nothing is preventing it from engaging - sometimes even the shroud itself can cause it, and the connector gets 'caught' on it. If that's not the issue, make sure it's properly aligned and flipped the proper direction, and push a bit harder.

erm.... you put the 2 pins in first then the 6 pins.

Thats how its setup to be inserted , You can line them up first if you want but inserting the 2 then the 6 does the same thing on 99% of pcie connectors.

image.thumb.jpg.414a8793632ebdabd1a8c23e823ab0dd.jpgI have the 6 pin in all the way but the two pin goes in but gets stopped by to little notches on the cable. I turned it on no problem and it works fine but still am a little worried. In the first photo you can see the two notches at the top and in the second one you can see that it does not go in all the wayimage.thumb.jpg.2344f85c84ef49478fcdc95ad82e16a6.jpg

The +2 part goes in first, with the little plastic notch being locked behind the 6 pin part (because the 6 pin part has the locking mechanism).
