If you go to the Forums regarding the online games you play or discord channels for said games, you'd find a lot more.
This forum is mainly for tech talk and support.

How many of his videos are related to gaming or how new hardware performs in games? There's a shit load of gamers around here which is why I'm always so confused when I check this channel and see nothing posted for like 2 months. Definitely more than tech talk and tech support, my guy.

if you're talking about the "LFG" section specificly.. i'd assume because most people already have a group of sorts, or people have different ways for finding a group than posting on a forum.

Exactly!  Hardware for games   People find other people in the games themselves or forums / LFG on other platforms than LTT. LTT Forum is very small compared to other forums for gamers or games.
You say people haven't posted in LFG chanel for 2 months, kinda speaks volume about what this forum is doesnt it?

People are not on LTT Forums for groups, its more a tech / Hardware and support website as mentioned earlier.

Computers do more than play games. 
I imagine most of the hardcore gamers are congregating in places that fit their demographic socially, like /pol/ and r/incels

We are here but we use this forum for mostly HW related stuff to gaming and not as a place to discuss gaming in particular. Not saying we don't discuss games here at all but it's nowhere near the main focus for most people. If I want to discuss games I'll just talk directly to people I want to discuss them with or go on reddit / lemmy, etc..

is it though? compared to reddit and game-specific forums maybe, but based on "online users" we're about 10x the size of BeyondGaming, and about 2x the size of PC gamer forum.

As mentioned, for games its quite small compared to other sites or discord servers.
Overall however, LTT is massive

People wanting to group with players of a particular game tend to go to a community specific to that game for obvious reasons.

Some gamers choose troubleshooting subforum btw.

 

Especially when they :

1. Have lower FPS than what a youtube video shows

2. Went to userbenchmark and it tells them they have severe bottleneck

3. Realize they are thermal throttling but have no idea why eventhough they are using a very closed off pc case.

4. Can't or refuse to read a manual

notebooktalk has a gaming subsection its once or twice a day people post, yet linus is tops for everything else, and gaming isnt its strong suit but its here.

imo there gamers that will just play one game forever and be in some group. like i dont no mind craft, gta, cod fortnight so on...

cant really play online with friends on switch i think its mostly random? but i dont really no

 

so there the signal player guys left. but aaa game are crap so you end up playing old games with no online. ya there people like oatsngoats that play singalplayer but has a livestream i guess is the group. like discord i guess. but most of that is you vs him not you talk in a group. and its like pay to get noticed...

 

online consoles for retro games there much smaller crowd and in a gray area for is the legal to do...
