AMD FreeSync does not appear in Nvidia Control Panel

BeornBear

I have an Intel i5-10400 with 32 GB RAM and NVIDIA GTX 165 Super. I just purchased a 23.8" HP M24h Monitor with AMD FreeSync capabilities. I have set the monitor to the highest refresh rate at 75 htz and AMD FreeSync enabled in the monitor's setup. I updated Nvidia drivers and Windows 11. In the Nvidia Control Panel, I cannot see the AMD Freesync option. I looked at articles online and I cannot see a viable solution. Does anyone have any suggestions?!

Because it won't show as AMD freesync, it will show as Nvidia Gsync. Make sure Freesync is enabled as an option in your monitor's OSD settings.

G-Sync compatible displays don't provide a freesync option in the nvidia control panel, you simply enable G-Sync to use it

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

I cannot find the G-Sync option in the menu. Would I just need to select Vertial Sync?!

The monitor has an hdmi and vga cable. My graphics card has display port, hdmi, and dvi port. Would a Displayport (from graphics card) to HDMI port (on monitor) work?! I might have to purchase one.

Freesync would work over HDMI if it's HDMI 2.1 on the 2000 series and newer GPUs.

Otherwise Nvidia doesn't support it.

While you could try an active displayport to HDMI adapter, I personally wouldn't bet on it working.

According to this, it should support FreeSync:

Not sure if this also means it'll work with G-Sync or G-Sync compatible monitors. Your monitor also isn't on Nvidia's list of G-Sync compatible monitors: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/products/g-sync-monitors/specs/
