Tier E - Avoid

That model is quite bad.

My local tech hardware store only carries Antec PSUs for some reason, I know skimping out on PSUs is a bad idea but my other option is to pay a boatload for shipping.

Are Antec good at making PSUs or should I try something else?

Any advice would be appreciated

Edit: the specific model I'm looking at is the Antec VP+ 550W

As with any brand, it depends on the model you're talking about. Antec has some good and some very bad.

As @GuiltySpark_ noted, that model is a big old nope.jpg from those who use the PSU Tier List to help their PSU buying decisions. Highly recommend bookmarking the Tier List if you haven't already as it's an immensely useful resource. https://cultists.network/140/psu-tier-list/
