Will LTTStore Not Com be posting Canadian prices and accepting Canadian currency?

I imagine they'd be taking Canadian cash as it's easier, unless they're going to be doing online only payments at the event, in which case they'd probably just use their current store setup somehow, which is in USD.

I think, last I heard it was going to be CAD but they were still working out the accounting details in the back end.

Unless things are different in Canada, but normally being able to accept multiple multiple currencies for one store is an absolute pain and comes with a lot of annoying tax and conversion implications. accepting USD is easier given the majority of their audience and it's the unfortunately de-facto international trade currency

I'm talking about cash transactions here.  Because it's a real event in the real world and it's held in Canada, where ATMs will be nearly exclusively dispensing Canadian currency only unless you request it specifically from a human bank teller or a currency exchange.

As hinted at... the US is 10x the size of Canada. 
US customers have a lot more disposable income than Candians as well. 

This is an outdated picture (since then Canadian living expenses went up faster than American living expenses and Canadian wages didn't keep up)


LTT store sells "premium products" the people for whom it makes sense to buy the goods will disproportionately come from households with CASH (think $70k USD or more)

 

 

here's a more recent figure (still out of date - Europe and CA have suffered from worse inflation than the US since 2020)
"Poor " places in the US are richer than Germany and British Columbia. I want to emphasize, inflation hit non-US locales harder.

Of course, none of this thread has anything to do about LTTstore.com but rather LTTStore Not Com, which will be located within Canada, in Canada's third largest city, where any local fan would be attendee could attend LTX without even requiring a hotel, they could simply go home at night and return the next day.  Where as American's could not attend LTX without at least a passport or NEXUS card.

 

So exactly how much do you think your stats of 'America has 10x the population as Canada' means much of anything here?  You're talking about this as if this is about ecommerce which is far more borderless, why?

They're oriented around the US market + Online. In person activities aren't the main driver. 

Laws are a pain and a hassle. 

I suspect that at this point Yvonne has learned more about IFFRs than she ever wanted to and adding in multiple currency conversions creates a huge element of fun. I have no idea if it ends up becoming a huge hassle involving transfer pricing...

I don't think this is precisely true, Linus they use USD since it is a more stable currency which helps stabilize revenue projections. They're focus isn't really targeted on a specific geographical demographic to an extent which using their currency would add any value.

IN PERSON ACTIVITES ARE THE ONLY DRIVER ABOUT MY QUESTION ABOUT PHYSICAL SALES AT AN IN PERSON EVENT WHERE PEOPLE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE ABLE TO DIRECTLY PURCHASE GOODS RATHER THAN ORDERING THEM ONLINE.

I have been commenting this for years on videos, lol. When I went to the first ever local pop up shop in Langley. I was recognized by one of the staff at the check out for it.

I got my fill of gear. After being a whiner, I backed my words up and supported the store. 

I am glad that this was done, as I have been saying for years that LTT is local and I should be able to buy local? (right? I can hit the office with a rock throw)

Would be awesome to have that option for a LTT.ca store for us canadians.

 

I would not be against a pop up 2.0 shop again!

Eh, not really. Their logistics system isn't set up for that.

when americans come to Japan they have to convert their USD into Yen using an atm. I do not see why its any different for canada. 
dont bend over backwards for cash payments, stand strong. anyone who travels abroad and just expects their physical foreign currency to work is cringe. use your credit card or something smh.

You say that, and in most scenarios it would be absurd to even need to ask 'This Canadian event will accept Canadian currency, right?'.  But this is the first time I ever had to pay for a tickets to a Canadian event in U.S. currency and their online store is U.S. currency only.  Suddenly the answer to the question is far less self-evident.
