first gaming build (looking for advice since I am new to building computers)

Go to solution Solved by WereCat,

I would advise to pay a bit more and go with i5 12400f and LGA1700 motherboard that supports DDR4.

And for GPU get RX 6600 which is around the same price while being a lot faster in all games.

CPU

But if you can't afford paying a bit more for the CPU then definitely at least get the better GPU.

GPU (The cheapest one listed to compensate for the extra CPU cost, should end up costing roughly the same in total while being a lot faster)

Budget (including currency): $1000-800 ideally

Country: US

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: mostly games like rocket league, satisfactory, portal, and sometimes valorant

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

looking to reduce the price a little bit and check if this is a good combination of hardware
