Hi, I would appreciate any recommendations for a PC build!

Budget (including currency): 1700 USD

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 1440p gaming at 165hz, Apex Legends, Hunt: Showdown, Minecraft w/ Ray Tracing, code compilation in VS Code, multi-tasking with lots of chrome tabs

Other details:
would love to have a mix of USB-C and USB-Type A ports on front I/O, as well as headphone jack.

would love to have 32GB DDR5 ram

would love to have a quiet system with low temps

Monitors

Currently have one 1440p monitor, but in the future may plan on having two 1440p monitors, or one 4k and one 1440p.

Peripherals

Not right now

Why are you upgrading?

Current PC build is 5 years old; while fully functional as a productivity machine that I will give to someone else, it currently lags on games such as Apex Legends.

At this point I'd probably wait for Black Friday. It's only another week and a bit. Then ask for help when the sales are on.

Ok, thanks for the input.  I was wondering this, as many retailers are having sales now, but I figured I'd get some advice early and I can stagger my buying anyway as I don't need all the parts at once.

Thanks so much for the build list!

Could I ask what you think about this motherboard?  https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16813145420 ?  It is also $200 but is Z790.  Is it better to go Z790?

I also forgot to mention that I have 2 drives that I'll be adding in from a previous build.  A HDD and a WD Black SSD.  Is the PSU enough now?

Also, unfortunately the 6800XT has jumped in price by a lot, do you recommend any alternatives?  Should I wait for GPUs on Black Friday?

Thanks again

Gigabyte boards have a problem with hitting higher ddr5 speeds then other boards like msi, so for ddr5 other brands are the better choice.

Mhm! It'll still work just fine.

Umm, I can't say for if the deals on black friday would be good for you, but there's no harm in waiting so if you have the time to spare, then I'd say to go for it
