My monitor highest resolution is 1080p, but the monitor itself is made for 1440p. 😡

So not a long time ago i bought a monitor named ACER Predator XB273UNVbmiiprzx 27" 2560x1440px IPS 170Hz 1 ms, and as you can see it's 1440p. So i came back from school, and it was laying there. I was very excited, i played the game on 1440p, but it was only 60hz so i unplugged the HDMI, that my dad plugged it, and instead plugged in DisplayPort cable. everything was working fine, but this time there was max 1080p res. but 144hz. What do i do to make it 1440p and 144hz?
I was thinking about plugging both HDMI and DisplayPort. But i dont think it's gonna work. Please help me.

What device are you using for the monitor, is it actually capable of outputting 1440p @144Hz?

This. What GPU do you have? Is it capable of outputting 1440p 170hz through HDMI?

Did you install your GPU drivers ?

It's not the best device for this it's alright but it's RTX 3070 ti with Intel core i5 12thF

yes, from nvidia driver something in geforce experience app

What cable do you use? And what is the revision of the cable?

For example: DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.0

Did you try changing the display settings in Windows, or only in the game?

That should be perfectly fine for 1440p 144hz

You don't know what DisplayPort cable you bought?

Is the bundle cable with you, use the bundle one.

 

You should able to run 144hz in 1440p in DP or HDMI.

 

Your monitor support DP 1.2 and HDMI 2.0

Then download Geforce Experience and download driver from it and install it. Then go to your Windows settings/System and in a first section (display) click display resolution. 2560x1440 should be there and choose that and for refresh rate, click "advanced display settings" and choose 175hz in refresh rate field.

how do i uninstall drivers first? (i have Geforce Experience and installed drivers) but i dont know if there's fabric drivers.

Try the DP, if not working then try HDMI.

 

If both also not working, then you need to clean uninstall your GPU driver and install back again.

i have DP plugged in. I was having HDMI the first day, 1440p was working but there was only 60hz

Bundle from monitor? as if your DP is lower version then it may have such issue. This is same thing for the HDMI

Your GPU no issue as it is 3070 Ti which support HDMI 2.1 and DP 1.4

 

Read the manual see any limitation using DP or not. Play around your monitor OSD see need to manual change or not. For LG and Samsung need manual change the DP or HDMI to higher version.

and i got these weird cables that look smaller than usual on the end there is hdmi and there is some square thing

Download and run this. This will uninstall your current driver. Restart. Then download Geforce Experience and from there download & install driver for your GPU (Geforce Experience will automatically detect your GPU and will download corresponding driver for it). After that, do what I told you earlier.

idk why but i feel my performance of pc is worse now, i was having like 70fps in rdr2 ultra but now i have 40-50 the DDU did something wrong i think

i havent changed nothjing in the ddu settings

Are you sure your monitor is actually a 1440p monitor? At least based on the Nvidia control panel where it says the monitor is a XB273 GP, seems to be a 1080p monitor on records
