Can I use mic port as headphone port?

Hi, long story short, headphone port (green) is broken so I want a way to connect the headphones to the mic port (red) and receive audio from there (so I can get audio from the apps, Chrome, Spotify, etc0

 

I saw that it seems there was a way to do this called 'connector retasking' using the Realtek app but my laptop isn't compatible with the Realtek stuff

 

If you can think of any alternative to do this I would highly appreciate if you could let me know, thank you.

This is something that needs to be supported by the hardware and/or its drivers, so we'd need to know which laptop model you have.

 

Apparently Windows on its own does not support this, but e.g. on Linux there is a software that can do it for Intel cards (in alsa-tools > /usr/bin/hdajackretask), but they give no guarantee that it works for everyone.

I know that realtek on a desktop, when the software is installed, will ask you what device you plugged in and change it to that function accordingly.

Its a laptop, and when I install realtek software or drivers, it asks me to restart to complete the installation and after I restart nothing is installed, theres isn't any trace of any realtek stuff to be seen anywhere so it just must not be compatible
