I have read and heard that all that you need to do to turn on the motherboard outside of the case is to short the two pins that are labeled PWR. My motherboard does not have pins labeled power, but it does have pins labeled reset.

The PWR pins are the 2 above the reset ones.
It's a standard layout, look in your MB manual.

Those 2 are the ones you need to short to boot it up.

Hello! Today I am building my first pc, and am at the troubleshooting step where your motherboard, graphics card, and cpu are all plugged into your power supply. My motherboard is the B660 gaming x ax ddr4, my graphics card is the zotac rtx 3060ti OC, the psu is the EVGA 80+ 850 G+ supernova, and my cpu is the intel core i5-12400. I have read and heard that all that you need to do to turn on the motherboard outside of the case is to short the two pins that are labeled PWR. My motherboard does not have pins labeled power, but it does have pins labeled reset. But, when I tried that with my screwdriver, nothing happened. Clicking the button labeled reset switch also does nothing. I assumed that maybe this was the wrong button/pins, so I looked around the board some more. There, I found a button labeled QFLASH_BIOS. Clicking it caused all the fans to spin to life, and for the motherboards little light thing to turn red (not sure what it is but I assume that means it’s on). This only lasted for a few seconds however, as everything slowed down and stopped. I tried this button a few more times, but it always turned off after a while. I looked it up and this button is apparently for upgrading purposes of some type, so it’s not the on button I think. I tried unplugging the motherboard cables and plugging it into the provided test block thing for the PSU, and the psu turned on fine. Connecting the two pins still does nothing, and neither does the switch. I’ve made sure all the cables connecting to the psu are firmly plugged in, and I can’t figure out what the problem is. Does anyone know what the problem is, or where the real on switch is? Please help me.

The reset switch and pins:

The QFLASH_BIOS button:

Thank you so much, that worked! I really thought I was going to have to buy a new psu or motherboard or something. This motherboard doesn’t come with a manual, just a user guide, so it was a bit confusing.
