Lenovo D221 Wide (24") if I remember correctly, definitely old tho.

Random 14 year old keyboard I got for free
Cheap Lenovo Mouse

There´s also random components and remains of old computers scattered all over the house, most of which are obsolete and basically glorified e-waste.

^my original setup^

I have upgraded my laptop and monitor, and enriched my pile of PC-garbage with a ancient and incomplete HP ML370 G5 server.
My new laptop is a Lenovo Legion 5, specs are:

Intel Core i5 12500H (12C/16T)
16 GB of RAM
nVIDIA RTX 3050 Ti

The monitor is a 23" (I think) HP LA2306x, that i got used for cheap. It´s 1080p, which is good enough for me and a massive improvement over my old monitor, which is hooked up to the currently not operational server.

All of the other computers in and on my desk work, except for the server of course.

English is not my first language, so please excuse any confusion or misunderstandings on my end.

I like to edit my posts a lot.

I've hardly touched my gaming rig since I got this setup: Nreal Air with the Steam Deck.

I don't need these any more ...

We can just get rid of all of this ...

Just yeet this garbage.

Honestly, if you don't use the desk setup often because of the Steam Deck, sell everything there and buy a bunch of Steam games.

(I'm joking obviously)

Microsoft Serial Mouse

I know the case looks a bit beat up but it's got some mileage on it so I can forgive it.  Nothing a can of RAL 1013 can't fix.

Runs Quake there nice and smooth in software mode up to 800x600

Or 640x480 nice and smooth in GL mode (still can't get it to switch resolutions without it crashing.  I think the V3 may be faulty)

Future upgrades planned are just a working CDRW drive and a GeForce 2 GTS when I can find a working one for the right money

With all the Trolls, Try Hards, Noobs and Weirdos around here you'd think i'd find SOMEWHERE to fit in!

I just finished my Latest Build in a Thermaltake 200.  I could not find the mini lower screen they offer for $100 so I decided to spend a bit more for something more useful. The only loose cables are for teh screen so I can take it off easily.

Let me know what you think.

Hey first post here.

Thought I would share my custom EKWB cooling solution for the Alienware area51 r5 case. Runs so much cooler and silent now. A fairly easy upgrade if anyone’s looking to do something similar I say go ahead!

They do.  This amp actually stopped working recently after the warranty expired, and I contacted Bryston and was able to get the factory to repair the unit and they were able to restore it to working condition quickly and affordably.  Great people, and a Canadian business.

Hello everyone, I just recently joined the community and just wanted to share my current setup.  When I got a steam deck I fell in love with its form factor and the fact that its a full blown computer on top of being able to just play games. Over time it has slowly taken the spot of many of my devices that these days I find myself only using the steam deck for games, school work, and anything else I need. These days I hardly open my laptop and I just carry a 9L sling with me with a folding keyboard, mouse, and my deck and it satisfies all my gaming and school needs when it comes to computing. Then I can come home and dock it for a any web browsing, document editing, or code writing I need to do for the week. It also helps that a lot of applications are web based now a days so I can still use powerpoint to make presentations for class.

Obviously this is not cutting edge, most of my peripherals are frankensteined from garage sales, personal purchases, and hand me downs.  Some recent releases run well on the deck while others don't. RE4 for example is great on the deck and I have replayed it multiple as well as games like uncharted 4 but others struggle to be comfortably playable and have decent battery life. Graphics aren't really a priority for me when it comes to gaming and I don't mind a game that looks potato-ish as long as its fun to play and battery life is decent. A lot of my gaming is older games and for that the deck is great. I also do a lot of my gaming on the go at work, school, or around the house while I do chores or watch the kids so for me this setup works perfectly into my day to day life.

Docking it is mostly for productivity work, I hardly play a game docked unless its much older or an emulator. It was a little cumbersome and  even inconvenient sometimes to daily drive a steam deck as my main computer but as I got more used to using Linux and changing my computer habits it now seems more difficult to use a laptop for me then carrying the steam deck and a folding keyboard.
