Show off Your Setup! (Rev.2)

LogicalDrm

Hey everybody, I finished most of this setup last year but of course keep tweaking it. Big desk is my WFH/Gaming setup as I am a fully remote worker, the lil' desk is the wifestation as she is only working from home 1 day a week and doesn't quite game as much as I do. The built-in shelves were in the room when we bought the house, then I added the extensions for the desks/mini-fridge/file cabinet to match. Custom 1/2" thick glass, main desk is 62" wide, secondary desk is 48" wide, and the closet desk is 38" wide. All backed with a lightstrip so the light shines through. Added an extra pull-out desk section using some tempered glass I had from an old desk for some extra space when I am working on something.

There is a lot of details that I can expound on if you are curious, just message me.

Bonus server closet with sleeper gutted Lenovo ThinkCentre's (3) from 2012 with mostly modern components in them, combination of new parts and things I've upgraded from in my main computer.

I've attached the photos of how it looks today, here is an album of the buildout: https://photos.app.goo.gl/YAfCUSsC64xbXMKh8

Been working a while on the setup because we have a little boy that recently had an upgrade from his small bedroom into a larger one, decided to re-decorate the room and turn it into a work office. 🤩

Still need to work on getting a custom LCD screen in front of the PSU to display stats like temperatures, but that's for later.

I'm applying Ikea spelling, meaning you get most of the words and letters, then it's up to you to assemble them correctly! 👍

Hey i just wanted to say it took me about roughly 3-4 years to get to this point and starting at 14 i started watching linus learning evrything i could about computers till i had the confidence and money to do it myself so i went to best buy and bought most of what i needed. i then upgraded my case and gpu along with other things and now i have a mammoth of a pc that i am going to redo completly soon and go complete overkill cause i always tell myself to fuck the budget and go for it.( Linus should watch out for this next build cause its going to be excessive)😏

Spec List:

Intel I7 10th gen (not sure if it was a kf but it clocked to 4.7ghz)

Corsair DDR4 3200mhz (4 x 8gb sticks = 32gb)

Msi Z490 gaming edge Wifi Motherboard

AMD RX 6700 XT ( installed the waterblock myself)

XFX RX 6600 (redone thermal pads) (ps could never find a waterblock for this one that works)

PSU ASUS 1000 watt or 1200 fully modular psu

2x 480mm thermaltake Copper Rads that are 64mm thick

13+ lian li Fans mostly 120mm's with 140mm's V1

Alphacool cpu waterblock and Gpu waterblock for the RX 6700XT

Sabrent Rocket 1tb M.2

WD 1tb M.2 (had another 500gb m.2 but gave it to my stepdad for the pc i built him for christmas

20tb WD NAS (for my moms Buisness and personal Stuff for backup along with a backup of my pc

Case: in order that i bought them

1. that shitty NZXT case with no airflow

2. Corsair 220T RGB case

3. Then i finally bought the Corsair 1000D

--------------------------

Extra's

--------

1. Xbox elite series 2 controller (2nd one i had to buy)

2. GoXLR

3. Rode Pod Mic

4. decent mic boom arm

5. 2 LG UltraGear Gaming Monitor 27'' 240Hz refresh rate and a MSI 165hz 27'' monitor (its the one going verital)

6. all monitors are on mounts clamped to the desk

7. Apple watch Series 7

-----------------------------------------

Total Amount spent estimate: 8,000$

and i did all of this with my bestfriend that helped me through my up and my downs and everything else and i got him when he was 2. he is now almost 7 years old he is my bearded dragon and my world. (also somethings are a certain way for specific reasons and not another way that looks nicer.)

Not really, just give specs, and upload pictures/videos. You can really make it anyway you want, just keep pictures well sized and not too overblown in size, did that once on gta forums.

I'll have to be sure to format the picutre size for sure.  Ive got a few "normal" gaming builds (5700g w 3080 10gb 64gb 3600 ddr4, r5 3600 w 3080 and 32gb 3600 (wifes) r5 3600 and a 6650xt 32gb of 3200 ram and a 6650xt) and one thats kinda overkill that is fun to talk about along with a NAS I'm tryin to build from an old I7 3770 but havent had time to finish or really do to much with

Nothing like a 16 core Xeon E5-2683-v4 with 128GB of ECC ram and a gtx970 to say "Fusion 360, do your worst"

yeah, the Xeon build was insanely overkill but I got the board Asus x-99 board for $150 and it came with a i7 5930K and 32gb of non ecc 2133 ram, but I used that CPU and ramp (plus a CHEAP chinese x-99 board) to upgrade my bosses work computer (they still had a I7 970........), the cpu was $50 and the ram was $200 for ALL of it (8x16gb).

well wat can i say i use this as a work / gaming area laptop and the first keyboard is for work the rest is my gaming setup that i use for spotify when i work.
then i got a flipper if you spotted it i didnt do much with it just coppy my car key and stuff like that.
then more right the first thing i ever made in UNI ( machining it to be graded together with welding etc.) and io just find it cool. LTT bottle 😛 and coffie out of my OG GMM mug. then a printer i almost don't use and first aid kit. lastly projects i am still working on like my bathroom and a way to cheaply make cold smoke vents accessibele (they need to be applied since this year so).

A few changes since the last time it got posted here. I finally got around to replacing the stupid light toobz on my 2080, I added a pair of A4x20's to help keep my boot SSD under control since prolonged summer gaming would get it into the mid-60's and now it tops out in the mid-50's, with my game SSD going from mid-40's to mid-30's. And the most important change of all, I added in the little duck pin a friend of mine got me.
