Thread for ShortCircuit Product Suggestions

JonoT

I'd love is the new iteration of Short circuit avoided the lab and technical/scientific testing all together. I think the channel is at it's best when it gives us a more experiential/anecdotal review. I'm not saying it should be without thought, but my experience is that sometimes the the result gets lost for the specs, especially in a short turnaround video.

I always assumed shortcircuit would be more casual, more allowing staff to review their interests almost. Branden on cameras, Alex on Cars, Dan on speakers, Alex on laptops (with framework disclosure) etc. Yes mention the technical details but rather point to an in dept review coming or to a labs post or somewhere else.

I'd like to see a video on cheap vs expensive gaming chair hydrolics. Why does my secret labs chair feel better and smoother than my maingear (micro center) chair? Might be a better topic for a longer video but id watch it.

You should definitely try the keyboard from work louder, here is the website: https://worklouder.cc. There are 2 main models but both of them are extremely cool. Also there is another keyboard: The Dygma Defy, it’s splittable, focused on ergonomics and can tent so much, I don’t have one yet (mainly because of the price 🙂 but I would love to see a review of it). Also changing of subject there is a monitor brand called Dasung which makes e-ink screens, like 27” monitors or so, I think it’s a pretty cool idea but I don’t know if it’s to soon to buy it and the technology isn’t developed yet. Also and lastly I haven’t found like a guide/recommendation/comparison of pc speakers, maybe i haven’t searched for it well enough…

Love your videos!

I'm sorry if i made any spelling mistakes, i'm not an English speaker.

Vertical mice.
Logitech has 2, the MX vertical and the Lift vertical, I think Anker makes one, Evoluent has a few. I've also seen one made by iClever, but not sure if they make it or if it's a knock off of another design (or one chinese factory churning out the same model for a bunch of people. There are also a bunch of varients made by brands I've never heard of. Comfort would be subjective, but would still be interesting to see a bunch of these get tested.

Hey JonoT,

I found this product , called the Wireless Adapter for Nintendo Switch, on Amazon after I had a thought about using my wii classic controller with my switch when I play smash bros or when I play with friends to up my game.  I thought to share with LMG  for Short Circuit and maybe see a unboxing.

I'd love to see rearview mirror dashcam reviews. I have a Yi mirror dashcam that I bought less than five years ago, that has served me well in the past, but I'm looking for an upgrade from a 1080p FullHD front/720p HD rear system, to a 4k one. The one I have now is starting to show its age for quite awhile.

Here's some sample footages:

I'm really curious to see someone with lots of experience with high speed storage solutions take a look at the https://iodyne.com Pro Data. It's a Thunderbolt SSD enclosure aimed at Video DITs. It's made by a small company. I'm interested in getting one but don't want to shell out just to test it. I think the LTT audience would enjoy a video about this.

This isn't really a product suggestion, but ShortCircuit videos don't get LMG Releases threads...

This graph from the iPhone 15 video isn't the clearest, at a glance:

image.thumb.png.2f0b8edac31bf6f3c3063c3d2e16f408.png

I know it means just over an hour and a half in both tests, but those could easily be misconstrued as one hour fifty-odd minutes. (Especially since the numbers after the decimal are all under 60.) Sure they're technically correct (the best kind of correct), but who writes "an hour and a half" as "1.50 hours"?

I sold my soul for ProSupport.

Oraimo open circlet. Open ear headphones that actually sound good.

Imagine everything i have written in a Linus Voice/ linus tone (Spock live long and prosper gif here ,idk why tho, i guess i just want to say that i like star trek and am waiting for new seasons of the ongoing shows), But seriously, a lot of what i type only makes sense when said in a Linus tone from an older ltt video (circa 2017-2019 & now 2024-onwards) basically before he got a beard and a lot of it should make sense even in a Linus with a beard face.

also note as per the latest typing test on my laptop, my accuracy is 69%

I'm not weird/creepy, I'm just observant I have ADHD and am not on any meds for it.

Fitbit Sense vs Fitbit Sense2 vs Pixal Watch vs Galaxy Watch 5

+1 and also Pixel Watch 2 and Huawei Watch 4

The og sense was the perfect watch for jogging without a phone, always got at least 48hrs of battery life with very heavy use, great health/fitness sensors (both on paper, and real world usage), and offline music playback.

Unfortunately Google recently killed offline music playback on the sense (an advertised, key feature of it), which is often left out of the conversation of things Google has killed and I wish got more attention, even though the pool of affected users probably wasn't too large. https://9to5google.com/2023/01/17/fitbit-pandora-deezer-support/

Today's Short Circuit (My Hopes were dashed -Kia Niro EV) said there were lots of requests for reviews of more budget EVs. Would love to throw the BYD range of EVs into the mix... Maybe the BYD Atto 3?

(Bundle review idea for thin and lights)

I have been interested in the laptop series on short circuit for a while, seeing every video as they have come out, and going back to watch the ones that I missed. And while I understand that just wanting a specific product to be reviewed by your favorite tech youtuber is not the most considerate or possible thing to do, I really feel that it is a worth while product to be reviewed, maybe even in a batch to make for a better video.

The ASUS Vivobook Pro 16 (K6602VV-ES94). It is a thin and light with enough power to handle most if not any work load or games you can throw at it, and it has a 16:10 OLED screen in 3.2K 120Hz for an excellent visual experience. The specific model mentioned has a 96Wh battery, however battery may still be an issue. All of that, however comes to a price of  $1799, discounted at the time of writing to $1499.(Probably a permanent discount)

Then if it is not a worth while video to make on its own then, like I suggested, a batch review of thin and light power houses would make for an interesting video due to the different strengths of Samsung, Apple, and Dell however all with a larger price tag then the Vivobook. And while all the thin and lights, even the Vivobook, are at your discretion to include in the video, I think that the Vivobook Pro 16 (K6602VV-ES94) is one of the best budget thin and light powerhouses on the market in 2023.

There is a Vivobook Pro 16x (K6604) that has the same screen with upgraded internals, however it is obviously bulkier than the (K6602) with an arguably less visually appealing key board, your opinion if the (K6604) can be seen as a thin and light, in my opinion, it is not, but it is still more powerful and only $1999.
