Noctua NH-U12s Redux

Nice and all, but I'd recommend Scythe Fuma 2 for lesser money.

90C is a bit borderline already. Both Noctua NH-U12s Redux and Scythe Fuma 2 should cool nicely below that.

Hello everyone!

I thought about upgrating my prebuilt pc's cpu cooler and tought about getting the Noctua NH-U12s Redux since my friend got one aswell, we both have an i5-10600k. Should it be enough to play games like Cyberpunk 2077, Resident Evil Village and Forza Horizon 5 without going in the 80-90°s?

If I should get one should I use the pre applied thermal paste?

Should I also use noctua's NA-CW1 cleaning wipes to remove the old paste?

And since my prebuilt didn't come with an exhaust fan(the case is the cooler master MB511 argb), should I get one?

Thanks!!

The Vetroo V5 or the 224-XT is about as good as the U12s for a lot less money.

A Scythe Fuma or Deep Rock will do better, at a similar pricepoint.

The noctua wipes are good, but high-proof Isopropyl will work just as well.

Oh also one last question is it fine if I don't have an exhaust fan? @tkitch@Tan3l6@coffeelogic

That is a significant downside that affects any CPU cooler you'd choose. One exhaust fan doesn't cost much, suggesting strongly to get one..
