Will a slightly lower pcie slot affect the GPU temperature a lot?

To keep it short.

I'm interested in buying the "MSI x570s unify max" but the thing is compared to other boards the pcie slot for the graphics card seems to be lower on this one.

Will that have a huge effect on an aorus rtx 2070 in a be quiet 802 case regarding temperature or should I go with a vertikal mount in this case?

usually airflow if you have an aircooled system makes a difference..

it realy depends on how many fans in and out..

just 1 slot down isnt going to affect thermals, what matters is how close it is to the PSU shroud

The less space you have between the bottom of the case/PSU shroud to GPU fans the less access to airflow the card will have.

Avoid,It has no mesh front panel.

vertikal mount

It's even worse for thermals.

I own that case, it comes with a mesh front panel you can swap to. It's actually a really nice case even for air cooled systems. My temps (for the like 3 days my system wasn't water cooled) with a 3080 XC3 in that case were fine, mid 70s stock.

If it has mesh then it's fine.

One slot lower won't be a problem as long as the cable management is nice and tidy below the GPU

#no mesh crew

well to me any closed case that doesnt have bottom intakes is not ideal to begin with.

Average gpu temps ~60c, cpu a bit lower actually (although for the gpu my undervolt definitely helps)

As for your 'case' as has already been said as long you have proper in and out ventilation (aka fans) it should  be ok.

Thanks for the quick replies.

I would use 3x 140mm fans on the front and a 360 aio radiator on the top of the case as an exhaust.

That should be fairly enough when it comes to airflow right?
