Ah ok...weird the Microsoft themselves won't implement a Windows Update to fix the issue if other users and systems experience the same problem.

The thought just occurred in my mind about my question here as my laptop is also having the same issue, but I'll first use my desktop as a guinea pig when I get the chance.

Can't download any updates since canary build 25393.1

I've tried every tweak and fix from the internet.

Not going to make a clean install. Just wondering what is going on.

The  25393.1 was zn build. All the sequel are rs or some other builds.

So, this is sadly where you'll need to get your hands dirty and check the actual logs of Windows Update.

I've tried using Powershell etc. to update and find out from the logs where the update itself breaks down, but there are no explanations about more in depth error messages.
The " C:\WINDOWS\Logs\WindowsUpdate " contains a lot of *.etl files. Used FullEventLogView, that only shows persistent errors about wuauengcore.dll:

Spoiler

But it gives me no indication what's wrong. Anyway I'm almost given up.

Edit: One other symptom - can't install .cab files with correct DISM command. Every time with all cab-s:
