Is it normal for a fan cable to look like that?

Filingo

The cable that goes out of the middle of the fan of the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 seem to be twisted, and it lifts the sticker at the middle:

Also the box came wet.. I seriously think about returning it.

Looks like a fire hazard, look how the soldering are close to each other

I ordered because people said they exist for 20 years and that Noctua actually copy from them the heatsink design ahh

Did you just ask if a CPU Cooler had been tampered with?  People tamper with medical pills and liquid bottles and Halloween candy, not $20 CPU Coolers. 😉

It was manufactured shitty, either fix it or don't.  It's not an issue in any way, shape or form.

You could just gently pull put the cable and twist it so that it lays flat.

They probably routed the cable through those channels and only realized at the last moment that they inserted the cable badly so they said f.. it and just twisted the wires before soldering them to the pads.

It's not a flaw, just looks ugly.

😄 English is not my first language haha but it's good to learn, I actually enjoy when someone corrects my grammar in English so I can learn

I just tried to twist it back, it's definitely the right orientation the way it is. twisting it is impossible, I guess this is the design.

Also close up look of the soldering, what do you think:

It's fine, they look like acceptable solder joints. The brown stuff is flux, it can stay there, doesn't do any damage. You can clean it with isopropyl alcohol or acetone if you wish, but it's not necessary.

Standard manufacturing, for low cost items.  Trust me, do NOT look in the engine bay of your car if you're asking about this item here.

If the CPU Cooler works, it's fine.  SImple.

better then Dell Logitech ... like mention they are fine and what you would expect on a product like this.

With pay going up and labor shortage industry robots and machinery getting interested but there is a very high chance a worker paid approx. $1000 per month soldered this and another worked clips the cable all day long

I think you're generous with the $1000 per month 😕

I watched the show "Rotten" on Netflix, the episode on the Chocolate.. watch it and see how much some people earn 🤯

Hell I make many multiples of that and I'd probably do it the same way, it's more of a "fuck it" than a pay aspect.

It's clipping a wire down, and probably a quota on how many to get done in a certain time.  However the wire is laying is how I am going to clip it since IT DOES NOT MATTER AT ALL.

I ordered it because my 5600x was throttling on PBO and then I searched Amazon for CPU cooler and it was one of the first products. And it's like up to 245W for 45$ so I said let's give it a try after people also recommended Thermalright when I asked about this cooler

And it had 5 stars reviews so I said why not, let's give it a try as well.

But now I understand why it's so cheap

The heatsink looks good though.. so maybe just buying 2 new fans (Arctic P12 maybe? can solve it).. but then again, I can just return it and get a better more reputable item like the Fuma 2

This is what? Your third topic about this cooler. You keep saying that it's too loud but you have not even tested it. DO NOT TRUST THE INTERNET, try it for yourself.

My thermalright fans look like that too and they're fine. Some of my deepcool and coolermaster fans are this way too and yes the cables are twisted.

I'm not sure why you'd return though? Have you mounted it yet? It being wet sounds like a courier issue instead so chances are your fuma 2 might get wet too.

And if you do indeed order the fuma 2, just know that the cables are twisted at the back too.

They've been around longer than noctua. They're more well know in the West during the early days but these days they're focused on the Asian markets. I'm surprised you've not heard of the LGMRT or the silver arrow or even the axp90...

Haha I know but since my other posts, every second new review mention that it's loud, so there's gotta be something to it.

Also, I think I'm just disappointed because of the way the fans arrived so weird looking and the wet box, I guess I just try to find excuses to return it 🙂

Ok that's cool.

So I think this comment just made me leave this cooler and test it!

Edit: other fans might be twisted cables too, but you can see the plastic stretches the entire circle, so it doesn't lift the sticker and making it look so apparent

Today I don't have time to install it, so probably tomorrow

Hmm you seem to be too fickle minded about this, its alright to test the cooler and return it after. I feel that if you do end up getting a fuma 2, I'll be able to convince you to return another good cooler by showing you charts of how it doesn't have the greatest thermal performance and uneven heatpipe ends 😂

Actually.. Noctua ripped off Thermalright. And it’s not news, most people who have been in the hobby for awhile already know this. In the end they all rip each other off, it’s what happens when no one applies for a patent.
